WWYD--not really a big deal, but just curious

DH has started to eat salad only for dinners during the week, because he was injured for a bit from working out and wants to get back into shape (even though I think he's in great shape, MUCH better than me! Chat Icon ) He has started to work out again during the week days, and doesn't like to eat a heavy dinner....and said he likes just salads...

Well I'm not a salad-is-enough-for-dinner girl, at least not every night, so should I just cook for myself? Or cook and ask him to eat some too....its really stupid but its annoying me a little bit that he only wants salad on week nights...

I KNOW this isn't the biggest deal in the world, I'm just procrastinating doing some stuff right now and this is part of my procrastination Chat Icon Chat Icon

i would NOT be able to eat only salad every night. I say make what you want and offer him some. If he doesn't want it, then no big deal.

Re: WWYD--not really a big deal, but just curious

I get home before DH during the week, and eat before he gets home. He gets home at 7 from the gym, and usually doesn't eat til 8. I can't wait that late. We usually cook big dinners/food during the weekend, and then either fend for ourselves with leftovers or make something quick like a salad or soup or something.

I'd just do your own thing, and let him eat boring salad! Chat Icon

good call...

I'll make what I want, and eat leftovers...I will leave him to his boring salads...Chat Icon He's such a weirdo! Chat Icon I love the "fend for ourselves" during the week! Chat Icon

Thank god we have our weekends to fancy it up, cook more and sometimes go out...I don't know what the male equivalent to a plain jane is but that is DH! Chat Icon

If I were you I would make dinner for myself & have a side salad or make things like chicken cutlets to add into the salad.

I wouldn't ask him to eat more because I think that's diet sabotage.

Really what *I* would do is opt for salads only, use the opportunity to get in shape & encourage DH. But my DH is woefully out of shape so anything he wanted to do to become healthier I'd encourage.

Maybe in the future I'll do that....

Right now w/eating for two, baby and I want food! DH did say this, and then sometimes eats a little of what I have....so who knows. I could also try cooking a bit healthier...when he cooks its good, but I prefer my own cooking to his Chat Icon

My DH is like this. He goes on these diet kicks and I find them so annoying. Right now he is on the "I only eat veggies and chicken diet" Can I tell you how I am dying for a steak??Chat Icon

Sometimes I just go with what he is eating but other times I make what I want. So obvioulsy my vote is to eat what you want!Chat Icon

I think it's more important to eat together even if you eat different things. We eat different things sometimes b/c we like different foods. No biggie.

Same here. I would let him eat what he wants and eat what you want - I don't think it's a big deal.
