wwyd? wake related.

Would you bring a 6 week old? Its a VERY CLOSE family friend of DH. Its his grandmothers best friend of 50 years so its pretty much a grandmother to DH. DH mother and grandmother said to bring DD but im not sure. What would you do? I cant get a babysitter tonight( everyone will be there) so its either i dont go or we bring her.

He is to young to understand and if you do not have anyone then I would bring him.

Yes, I would especially if there were no other way I could go AND family members said it was OK.

thats what i was thinking but was a little hesitant since it was DH family who said to bring her...not the actual deceased womans family.

We brought DS to a wake at that age. A friend's father passed away and we had no one to watch him. Everyone appreciated a baby there. If the baby starts to fuss, you can always wheel him around in the lobby area.

I always bring DD with me. We took her to DH's BFF's mom's wake when DD was only 5 weeks old. From what I've experienced, people like to see a baby during times like that. It makes people feel better.

We also took her at 5 weeks old to my cousin's grandma's wake and everyone was so happy to see her.
