WWYD?....napping and construction on home?
I'm not sure how I am going to handle this....we will be having our backyard re-done with Pavers. It will take about a week. DD's room faces the backyard. How will I handle nap time? There will be so much noise! Do I leave for 2 hours and hope she sleeps in the stroller? Do I drive around for 2 hours? If I do this for a week will she then not go back to sleeping in the crib? Any advice? I'm getting stressed out!

I would try to see if she will sleep through the noise..you'd be suprised.
If not, I'd go out for walks or to the mall or someplace for nap time. Im sure she wont have a problem going back to napping in the crib!

Re: WWYD?....napping and construction on home?
We had the basement finished - they worked for 3 weeks - nail - gun and all.......he slept through it w/ no problem.
The ONLY time my Mom took him toher house was when they were doing the ceiling - I didn't want them shooting that nailgun up into the ceiling under his bedroom floor ..........gave me the creeps.....

I can totally relate. DS is 2.5 and we just finished about 3 months of renovations. I had people in and out of the house all day and he napped. Granted some days he woke a little earlier than usual, but as a whole he stayed right on track.

Can you get a white noise machine? I bet that will block out a lot of the noise.

Re: WWYD?....napping and construction on home?
Thanks ladies. I do have a white noise machine. She is a light sleeper. Sometimes she wakes up when the gardeners are here, and sometimes she doesn't. But the gardeners are only here for a few minutes. I guess I will try keeping the the normal nap routine and see what happens.

Re: WWYD?....napping and construction on home?
We just finished construction/renovations on our first floor, it took nearly 2.5 months. DS bedroom is on the first floor and is very close to where all the noise was. He slept fine most days! 1 week shouldn't undo any routine you have

Re: WWYD?....napping and construction on home?
i guess i'm in the minority because DS is a pretty good sleeper and napper and i had a hard time when they were doing the roof of our coop right above his window. It kept waking him up. i wound up moving him into his swing for naps

Re: WWYD?....napping and construction on home?
We had construction on our house for about five months when DS was two. I think the noise helped him nap. Once they took a lunch break in the middle of his nap and he woke up and said "Hey - where'd the guys go?"
