X post - What drinks do you expect at a shower?

I don't know why I am involved with planning my own baby shower but somehow I am.

It's a sit down lunch from 11 - 3 at Crabtree's in floral park.

It include soda and coffee/tea.

Would you expect alcoholic drinks at a baby shower at that time?

If so, what?

I know I posted this on PG. But I would not expect any alcoholic drinks.

They often have a champagne punch, but I don't expect that at a shower. And I very rarely see wine offered at a Baby Shower.

sometimes a punch like others have said, however I do not think it is necessary

(although my best friend went to a baby shower yesterday and said everyone was drunk.. )

Thanks ladies! I think the champagne punch would be great, but this place wants $7 pp for it and I think that's outrageous!!!!

I wouldn't expect any alcohol.

ive only seen the champagne punch. i wouldnt expect any other kind of alcohol - even if you dont do the punch people wont care!

punch maybe. Why don't you just have the staff inform people about a cash bar if they want an adult beverage? Or, do it by consumption..how many people are really going to drink? Not many I'm sure.

We threw my parents an anniversary party and a place and it was a luncheon. Only 4 people ordered drinks and the bill was $22.

No I wouldn't expect alcholic drinks.
We usually do house showers out here and we usually make punch and put out a bottle of champage that hardly ever gets touched.
I wouldnt' even worry about alcohol.

at a bridal shower like brunch may yes i would want to expect drinks... But for a baby shower no i dont expect any drinks.

There was only wine and hard liquor at my SIL's baby shower today and I really had an urge for some punch. It was a house party though.

yes-- champagne, white wine and potentially mimosas, bellinis and bloody mary's.

If its didn't have any alcohol I wouldnt think anything of it, but if it did I would imagine champagne punch

If people are concerned about alcohol at 11am , what drink they are getting should not be the may concern.

I have seen champagne/alcoholic punch as the most popular thing at a shower. What does x post mean?
