ohh, thats tough. if it were me, i would not go. if she gives you beef about responding no, then she'll have genuinely wanted you there. but, if you rsvp no and she doens't say a word about it, then you'll know. and that sux, why are people like that?

people aer strange lana, and you should know that weddings bring out other sides of people. i would just say forget it. i wouldn't want to go to a wedding where i knew the bride didn't want me there.

Do you know who else from work was invited? Was it like she posted - just her boss, one other, and you?
I'm really not sure what I would do. I just love weddings and I think if the wedding is at a place I've always wanted to go to, I would go despite the post on LIW.

but about the situation. I think she did like you. I think that she wanted to be at your wedding. But from what you just described i would be thinking more that it is a money issue...That she can't really afford to invite everyone she wants. I dunno. Either way i agree with your DH. Send a gift

I think I would feel the same way. It is a tough situation, she did go to yours and I understand being worried about that. When is her wedding? Is anyone else from work invited too?

I think it depends in what you want to do-- if you want to go-- then go, if you don't want to- politely decline. If she is trying to keep her numbers down she is praying for some no's anyway-- so, don't feel badly about doing it.

as far as i can tell, yes. me, out of feeling "forced"--which is so silly. if i had any balls, i'd have written....hi! it's me! please don't ask me then!
I'm not sure if this is what I would do (I have no balls most of the time), but maybe you should just ask her. Put her on the spot and tell her that you read the post on LIW and want to make sure she "really" wants you there before you respond.

I think it's hard to invite people from work. I think it's great that you were able to invite 100%, but if you could only pick a few, how would you divide it up? I had a hard time inviting people I work with because it's like when you invite one person, they next one would be offended (and right down the line). You may have been on her "B" list, but we all had one of those. Be grateful she could invite you. Go if you think you will enjoy it or decline if you think it has bad vibes.

I have gotten into trouble posting things on LIW, but if I thought anyone who I knew might read it-- I would never have done it-- even though it was just me venting and stressing.

i would NEVER write a post about someone that i know could be reading- on EITHER site
if you are sure shes definitely talking about you
1- that takes HUGE balls to write something about someone that COULD be reading
2-she sounds like a fake - to be all excited about you coming to the wedding - the writing that she doesnt care
i
if you are absolutely sure its you she was talking about, then dont go - but if thre is a chance she could be talking about someone totally different whom you didnt know she was friends with, then i would go.
i dont see the point in posting about 2 people in question....why go through the trouble- why not just not invite those 2 people and be done with it
its just weird to do that

ditto! sometimes you cant invite everyone because of a money issue. Doesnt mean they really dont wnat you there.

on a board she didn't think i read, but still....i used to roam the whole site, not just 05.
Ok, then she is just an idiot if she thought that there is no way you would see it. I still say you should ask her. Tell her that you read it and you don't think she really wants you there. She deserves to be put on the spot. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, then I think I wouldn't go if I were you. Then when she asks why you aren't coming, you should tell her the truth.

I think the thing is, in real life, people find it hard to honest and they hate conflict. It sounds like she ended up invitng you simply because you invited her and she either didn't want to hurt your feelings, or didn't want you talking about her at work for not reciprocating the invitation.
Do what YOU want to do. If you don't feel like going, skip it. If she was posting that stuff on LIW, she probably won't care anyway.
Maybe I am a sucker, but I would just chalk it up to all the stress from wedding planning and forget about it. Weddings turn people into wack-jobs.
