Re: teething symptoms vs. ear infection
Wow I'm so glad you asked I am wondering the same thing. He is pulling on both ears and waking up at night (But goes back to sleep after some soothing/eating) no fever and just a lil more fussy than usual.

Re: teething symptoms vs. ear infection
I dont know if this will help you. But my doctor last month told me that Nicholas probably will start to move his head form side to side and possibly waving or into their hands alot more.
Or like you said, it may be an ear infection. If it is, they probably wont be sleeping at night.
GOOD LUCK

how to tell?
the last few days DD has started some strange head movement behavior (shaking quickly from side to side as if saying "no") and flails her arm towards her ear. i did a search online for the head movement and of course came up with a range of possibilities ranging from no biggie/totally common to potential neurological damage (love the internet). the ear slapping can be a sign of ear infection or just another wonderful teething sign.
no temperature, but DD has been a tad grumpy and clingy. is my only choice to call the dr. and take her in to rule out an infection? any other things i should be looking for?
The best thing to do is to take them to the Doctor's.
thanks!
