Re: at what age do people "recommend" CIO?
I do believe it's 6 months. Would you try a paci?
I was against them until DD was using me as one

I was against them until DD was using me as one that's what she's doing now, using me as a paci as i'm not producing enough milk to be the main food source. we started supplementing with formula at 3 months, and now she's more of a formula baby than BM baby.
she DESPISES the paci ! she liked it for 2 weeks back when she was around 2 months old. now when i try to give it to her, she spits it out and gives me a look that says "c'mon mom, that's not going to cut it..."
DD was like that too, even with the bottles at first, like come on mom, you can't give me this thing when i can have soft warm flesh!
What kind are you using?
DD lovesss the gerber nuk's, the only one she would take. (she loves the little "handle" she plays with it, and pulls it out of her mouth, puts it back in)

Have you tried having her eat, then play with her to get her sleepy and then put her down for a nap. I tried this method with DD at 2 mos and she is a great a napper now. A great book that my help you is called Baby Wise

Re: at what age do people "recommend" CIO?
My ped told me between 5 and 6 months is the ideal time. We did it with my DD at 5 months and it worked in only a few nights

Have you tried any other types of pacifiers? DD likes the soothies ones. i don't think that will make a difference and i'm not looking to create a habit i wasn't too fond of in the first place . if only she was 1/2 as interested in her thumb as much as she loves my boobs .
I don't know if I'd wish for the thumb...I was not BF as a baby...but I loved my thumb until I was about 6 or 7 that I remember
