What is the difference between "regular" yogurt and Greek yogurt?

Re: Yogurt Spinoff Question...
I don't know what the difference is in making it, but the taste and texture is totally different. Fage is a lot thicker, creamier and heaver than regular yogurt, even when it's the 0 fat version.

Another question... What does it taste like flavorwise?

A little too sour for me, so I add a teaspoon of honey, which comes with it. It's really yummy!

Is it available in the local supermarkets or do I need to go to a specialty store?
I'm trying to get into eating yoguart... I'm looking for a healthier low-no fat snack.

I'm not on LI, but I've found it in my local supermarkets and in Trader Joe.

Ok cool. I'll have to look the next time I hit the store or Trader Joes.
Thanks!

Re: Yogurt Spinoff Question...
it's definitely thicker, less sweet.
you can use it for savory dishes (like tziziki)
I love adding cereal to it, in lieu of milk. adds a touch of sweetness and is very filling.
ETA: it is definitely higher in calories than say, a Dannon Light and Fit, and those with fruit or honey are higher still.

Thank you. The tziziki response was going to be my next question.
Yes Kevin tziziki is the "sauce" they put on gyros but it also has garlic, mint and I think some other stuff in it.

Re: Yogurt Spinoff Question...
greek yorgurt is the most delicious yogurt.. it's way creamy and a little more tangy. i like it w. honey and fresh berries- it's like dessert it's so creamy- unlike watery dannon yogurt. once you try greek yogurt, you will not want any other.
