My dh went into the kitchen last night to grab a napkin, instead he grabbed a mouse! It jumped out of his hand as he flicked on the light and he ran over the stove and squeezed himself behind it. He had eaten the brand new loaf of bread...well part of it.
I would have thrown up

we get them sometimes in my house.. wehn they are digging around me. We use Glue traps.. I always love watching my Dh run around with a snow shovel chasing this little field mouse.

Awww I hope you catch him soon.
My mom always tells me this story of how when she was younger there was a mouse in her parents garage (shed)..Not sure of all the facts..either my mom gave the mouse a little alchohol (sp?  ) or he got into it, but the mouse got "tipsy"..LMAO

Don't use a tiny bit of peanut butter either. DH did that and it came and licked the trap clean and then left. You have to stick peanut butter all over the place so that it steps all over the place to get to it!

This is why I said this!!!!!
I just reapplied the pb to the trap and tried to reset it. I wound up snapping my finger...OUCH!!
He probably heard me do that and is cracking up...

the cheese is a myth! use peanut butter or get the glue traps. That's how we caught the mouse in my kitchen.

If you get a humane trap....he won't have that opportunity--once he steps foot in there, the door will close and he'll have nowhere to go (AND HE'LL STILL BE ALIVE!!!). Just think about how that trap felt on your finger....now imagine it pinching you on your little toe, and not being able to get it off.....this is the pain that poor little mouse will feel when you "trap" him in that mean old thing! Humane traps cost just a little more money....shoot, I'll send you one for free if I know it'll save the little bugger's life.
Eta: GLUE TRAP????? What is WRONG with you ladies???? My god!!! Maybe when one of your children comes in to find the poor mouse biting his own leg off in a bloody mess and cries hysterically ALL NIGHT from nightmares, you'll change your minds about GLUE TRAPS!!!! UUGGHHHHH!!!!!!

The glue traps are evil. My ex-boyfriend put one in his house. The mouse got trapped in it and what can you do?? Their little feet are stuck in the glue! My ex was so distraught over this. He actually had to put on a workboot and step on him to kill him, it was horrible! I learned my lesson to never use those things.

I know....those glue pads are so torturous.....
Years ago, when we had one, my dad bought those traps where the mouse walks in and the door trap closes behind them. (Its a little grey box that you put PB or cheese all the way in the back so he would have to walk all the way in to eat it, and by then he 'd walk so far, the tilt would make the trap door closed from the mouse's weight.
Then when the mouse got trapped in the box, he drove it to a local park or beach and freed it.

Glue Traps are CRUEL. Mice usually end up eating through theit own legs to get out, and you have to drown them to get them to die. A trap isnt much better, but at least they dont suffer.

Someone told us about this trap when we had a mouse a few years back and it worked right away! Literally within ten minutes of us putting it out for him we heard a snap and we caught him!! My husband and I just looked at eachother and said no way! But yep, we got him!
