you will not believe this!
I had my cardiac MRI with contrast today. After I was done I was sent to the nurses room so she could get the needle out of my arm.
Turns out she was from Uzbekistan(I'm from the neighbor country)
She asked where I work. I said I don't I am a SAHM .
-She said oh really? why don't you work, you'll have more money.
I pretended I didn't hear her.
Then she asked if my DH was also from my country, I said no he is American.
AND she said "why did you marry an American, why didn't you marry a nice Georgian or Russian guy" I literally went  I just said "what kind of a question is that?" .
She didn't even blink and just went on saying , oh do you love him or did you marry him for a green card (I had my green card when I met and married DH) , I said "I think I need to go now, can you please get the needle out of my arm?!" She totally ignored me and started writing in the chart while going on talking. next she said " I don't understand why they gave you this medication, looking at your chart you really don't need it, the American doctors are all about medication, they are terrible, you should go to a nice Russian doctor"
I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT, I WAS SHOCKED.
Just when I was ready to get up and call someone else, the MRI dr's assistant came in asking if everything was ok (bc I was in the room with the crazy woman too long) I asked him to get the needle out of my arm and just stormed out. I was too angry to say anything to anyone.
I am more angry at myself for letting her go on as long as she did. I think I was just so tired from a 60 minute MRI and contrast , that I couldn't think any more I WAS JUST SPEECHLESS!

i think you should call back that office and let them know about her behavior--that is unacceptable...and who knows how many other patients she is loose with her mouth with, and they might feel bad complaining.
sorry she was such a jerk.

ITA. I think some people feel connected to people who are from the same areas and are more prone to loose lips, but this was too much and if you were that upset about it, I would definitely say something.

OMG... yeah, it sounds similar to some of the uncensored polish rants I've heard since I married DH (whose family is living in a super-polish part of brooklyn)
I was the target of many of those conversations (german american woman? *shock*) they kept trying to scandalize me by calling me a 'german protestant' (Catholicism is VERY important to them... and so is nationality... I think they'd prefer a polish catholic criminal over a german catholic professional like me)
tactful? nope. rude as heck? yep biased? terribly...
what? you weren't happy to 'bond' with her 
ah, but there is that ethnic charm

OMG Some people dont have common sense when they speak and not very professional on her part.. I would definetely call the office and complain about her. Who knows they might be so other complaints against her.. I'm sorry that happened to you. I hope you everything turns out fine with your Mri.

Thank you. I am so anxious to find out the results(this MRI is supposed to be the answer to many, many questions and will decide a lot) but my dr is away for a week and won't hear anything until next week story of my life
sorry for the vent, just not having a very good day

OMG...I am so sorry! Like the whole experience wasnt stressful enough
Its not even worth it to call and complain...it will just upset you even more. She is who she is. Its her beliefs...feel bad for her!

Normally I'd blow it off & chalk it up to a personality but I think the doctor should know that she is questioning his protocol. You're a strong person who isn't going to take the medical advice of someone who isn't qualified. I wouldn't want anyone else to not take medication because this bonehead put her 2 cents in. It's one thing if the patient questions the doctor but to have their office staff do it is unacceptable.

i would complain to the dr or her supervisor. if she doesnt like working for american doctors or working in american medicine then she should go elsewhere.

ITA, I am so sorry that you went through that. she obviously is not very professional, I would most certainly make a call back to the office and express your concern's about her... another word REPORT THE PSYCHO BIOTCH...

Ive come across people from other countries that maybe just dont know the etiquette of questions not to ask.
one indian woman I speak to often, has asked many of us things like how much we payed for our homes, salaries and just nosey questions that go overboard in simple conversations, and she asks in the sweetest way with no bad intention.
this woman that spoke to you, that was TOTALLY uncalled for and rude, but I guess she thought speaking her mind was ok

I agree! I do NOT think the doctor would want to know that someone in his own office is telling patients they should be going to a different doctor...
Sorry you had to put up with that. That woman was completely out of line.
