Your pet's quirks?

We've had Katlyn for just about a month now and I've noticed a few funny quirks that she has...

1. If you put her on the bed she frantically burrows under the covers. She'll do this if you're on the couch with a blanket also.

2. She likes to like you on the mouth If you put your face by her she'll go right for the lips.

3. She has her "nobody's home" spot. She's always waiting on one couch in the same spot.

4. She likes to pee on leaves.

Eddie (a fat orange cat) barks.

When its time for a meal, Lydia runs to the spot where she is fed, making a meow that sounds like: nooooow! noooow!

when Eddie is exasperated with me (when i snuggle him too much), he heaves a heavy sigh and stares at DH, like, "why do you let her do this to me?"

Lydia dive bombs me from the book cabinets. Scares the hell out of me.

While they are close, Casey feels that she owns all of the squeaky toys. Rawhides can be shared equally but Casey is the master of the squeakys.

Tally LOVES the car- the rescue organization said she used to be a trucker's dog...she is happiest in the car and can fall asleep in ten minutes...

Both love to have their butts scratched and Tally will stomp her back legs as we scratch her tush.

He has to turn two times were ever he is before he lays down!! So funny!!

Wow! I could write a book... here are a few.

- after he eats, he likes to walk back and forth rubbing on anything... the walls, the couch, cabinets anything

- after he eats he burps SO loud

- when DH and I play fight, it prompts him to hump my leg

Ebony cleans his mouth after he eats too.

- He won't eat if nobody is watching him

- He will only poop in high grasses if he is off the leash (in the park). He turns in circles at least 5 times, then make a little hop before he'll squat

- He must carry his leash in his mouth for at least 2 houses before he will let me take it from him

- He will throw the ball at you. Literally...

- He whines at us if we are up to late.

- He sleeps on my side of the bed (on the floor), and his head must be under the corner of the comforter. So I have a comfoter on the bed year-round

my dog needs to be under the covers when she sleeps, and she like to sleep sideways so as to take up as much of our bed as possible....

My cat will retrieve a small toy or rolled up piece of paper and bring it back to us for us to throw it again non stop. She plays fetch like she is a dog.
It really is hilarious!

My cat Gunnar can't drink from his water bowl unless he moves it first. No matter where it is - he'll move it across the room until he finds his perfect spot.
And, he likes to scream - not meow, but scream at the top of his lungs - before he drinks or eats something.

Scout, the younger cat likes to stare at the wall and meow.

Mr. Darcy the Maine Coon:
- paws at the side of the bed until I pat the mattress and "invite" him to join me - he never comes up until I do. He also does the same thing to DH when he's in the recliner.

- when we pet him he purrs so much that he drools and he scares himself.

- he's an indoor cat, but he loves to go outside and cries like crazy every time we go into the kitchen to be let out.

- when we do let him outside, he like to find the highest spot on the deck to perch himself. He even goes on the roof (see pic below)

FitzpatricK:
- lies down in the upstairs landing and sticks his paws through the railings of the stairs to smack us when we go downstairs. If we run our fingers along the railings he will pull himself along using his paws, even going around corners

- he has a green furry mouse that he likes to stick the tail of in his bowl of water while he drinks

- he wakes me every morning by standing on my tummy and licking me

My cat Flipper, when she comes to bed, has to knead her little stuffed white tiger (we bought it for her before we went on our cruise so she would have something to cuddle with ) for a few minutes before she will lay down. It's so cute!!

Also, when she hears us coming in the house, she'll stand by the door and cry. Once we come in, she immediately runs to her Turbo Scratcher and scratches at that for a little.

1. Martin must have had a past life where a garbage bag did bad things to him....Because he LOVES to attack it everytime i chnge the bag..

2. Martin understands names and places...

3. Martin, when he wants something from me (usually treat or to go out) he will put his face right up to mine and keep it there..

4. Martin LOVES his collar...If i take it off he goes crazy

5. martin liked to think i am putting make-up on him

we've had a few cats in my day...but they all have the same quirks

our last cat and current cat like to play "make the bed." which involves running around under the sheets as my parents try to make the bed

run from room to room at top speed for no particular reason

our last cat liked to lick plastic bags...its was weird

reggie whimpers when ever I give him a pig ear . he walks around the house with it in his mouth wimpering- I find it hours later under a pillow

- he wont eat his food unless we put water on it

- he does late night runs around our house in full speed bouncing around everywhere and then he flops.

My dog burps real loud that I once blamed my DH for it but it was the dog.

He lies upside down against the couch with his feet propped on the couch.

He likes to come up from behind me and goose me.

If my DH and I are hugging he sticks his head through our legs so he can cut it.

After I make sauce for pasta I put the can in the recycly bin. He sticks his head in the bin and licks the can clean. When you catch him doing it he quickly takes his head out and his face is all red. (he's a white dog)

He cries is someone doesn't stop to pet or play with him. He's a big baby!

There are alot more but I'll keep it short.

Tonka likes to wipe her face on the bed or the couch after eating.

Tonka will not go outside unless she walks out the door first. If she isn't first she will bark and nudge me until I call Max back in just so she can walk out first.

Max has a favorite spot on the couch, if ur in it, he'll sit on you. You have to crawl out from under him cause he is a fat boy and wont move.

When Max drinks water, he feels the need to place his left paw in the bowl. never his right!

Also, Tonka can't sleep at night unless her head is on my pillow and she needs a blanket too.

sun-spot worshipper---loves to lie in the sunlight next to the back sliding doors.

sleeps like a person-head on the pillow-between DH and I-and she must touch us both (slants head to one, feet or tush to the other)

After she eats she burps so loud you can hear it.

Before she lays down she had to sratch the floor and go around in circles before she lays.

-she eats so oddly. she grabs 3 pieces of kibble, then takes them into another room to eat. then comes back for 3 more, then leaves.... and so on

-she is the most obnoxious licker in all the land. ive never met another dog lick as much as she does. and she has one palce inparticular she likes to lick... up the nose

-she hates toys and wont play with them, but she steals them and gaurds them just so the otehr dogs cant get them

LUKIN:
-he literally gives hugs. literally. i mean, full on paws around the neck, his head resting on your shoulders. i can say "lukin, can i havea hug?" and he comes and gives me one! its the cutest

-he goes crazy over hair blow dryers and vaccums. he barks at them and chases them, but if their aimed at him he gets so scared.

-he likes to sleep in pillowcases. he finds the opening and gets right on in there.... which is annoying since i sleep with it over my head.

DHARMA:
-she "prays", she does this crazy thing when she wants somethign... she stands on her two back paws and puts her front paws in the air and puts them together as if she is praying

-she NEEDS to sleep inbetween me and dh. and if dh leave for work she NEEDS skin on skin contact. the only way she will sleep is her naked back against my naked back. she has even gone up into my jammies to do so.

-she talks to you. like scooby doo. "roo roo roo roo" she says.

OMG too many to list them all. Funny one though, Pyxie needs to follow everyone to the bathroom, she will then proceed to *hammock* in your pants while you um....go.

Molly Cat:

1) She has a nobody is home spot too (although she will sometimes go there when just DH is home too) - under the bed!

2) She will nip at my ankles when I am walking around if she wants to be played with (she likes me to twirl this fluffy toy around) or pet (it is SO annoying, but I am a suck-er and she knows it)

3) She always comes over to watch me clean her litter (to make sure I am doing it right? )

4) Every morning at 5AM she comes in and wakes DH and I up (by howling and poking us in the face with her face - DH is getting annoyed about it). I have tried everything to get her to stop (given her food before bed, tried to get her to sleep in the bed with us, given her a batrillion toys). I guess she gets bored

For a cat that 6 months ago was a stray that someone abandoned, she sure got spoiled quick!

Gus has many...he's a character...

-he must be cuddled and snuggled for at least 10 minutes in the morning before he'll get out of bed....

-he needs to "arrange the covers"-he kicks the up and moves them around to make them perfect, it usually ends with his head on the pillow and the blanket pulled all the way up to his neck, I still can't figure out how he learned to do it...


-he sits in front of the refrigerator after I put away a pot of sauce-it's his favorite....

-he bites/nips my butt when he is mad at me...

-he really gets ****** if anyone sits on his couch....he'll whine, and bark, and huff, or just come over and lay on you...

-there is to be NO kissing. if Todd (my BF) kisses me he stands the chance of getting "taken down" by Gus....

-if I'm snacking on something and not automatically sharing, he brings me his dish for me to put some into it, or he brings me a toy or one of my shoes as a "trade"...

-he smacks at you with his paw if you're not paying attention to him...

-he makes sure I'm watching the game of tug he's playing with Todd, if I'm not watching, he stops trying to beat him.....

Rocky has a bunch, too:

-As soon as he knows you are heading to the bathroom, he goes nuts and HAS to be the first one in there. As soon as he gets in, he wants out.

-When my mom's cell phone rings, he gets scared and runs away and hides

-whenever I cry, he gets scared and runs away and tries to get out the front door!

-He also eats so weird, takes a mouthful of kibble from his bowl in the kitchen and takes it to the living room carpet to eat, and back and forth

-He HATES his feet touched. You can't even act like you are gonna touch them, he snarls and shows teeth, but never bites

-He hides his bones around the house

-He chases his tail
-He likes to lay on his toys and growl and howl and kick his legs up in the air

sooo many.....
