-if I'm snacking on something and not automatically sharing, he brings me his dish for me to put some into it, or he brings me a toy or one of my shoes as a "trade"...
-he makes sure I'm watching the game of tug he's playing with Todd, if I'm not watching, he stops trying to beat him.....
what a character! So cute!
he really is a lovebug!!!!

Re: Your pet's quirks?
My Barney boy is quite a character..he MUST be glued to my DH or I at all times..(mostly me )
He has MANY quirks
he has what we call "Barnin out" time....this is where he will suddenly growl and bark, and the house becomes INDY 500, running around the dining room table flying onto the couch, then flinging his body into the ground. Two things trigger this....when he wants to play, and we are ignoring him OR when we spray grooming spray on him...he hates to smell good! He LOOVES to be washed, brushed and blowdried...but the doggie cologne is just not his style. Sometimes we just FAKE spray him to watch him "barn out" because its so darn funny.
Second Quirck:
His greeting....he must go between your legs and lift you off the ground. My poor MIL has been knocked off her feet a few times...HYTSERICAL...thankfully he is extra gentle with kids and does not do it to them.
Third quirck. When he wants your attention, or a treat, he will thrown something at you, a pillow a ball, or just take your hand and fling it in the air with his head.
Fourth and MOST ANNOYING quirck:
He LOOOVES to bite his nails. I seriously never have to trim them, cuz he will just chew on them, and keep them short. It's ANNOYING when he wakes you up at three in the morning with that crunch crunch sound, but again quite hysterical.
I LOVE this dog more than I thought I ever would. He has unbeliveable personality, and a wonderful temperment. He has amazing trust in DH and I, and will try anything with us!
I know I am gushing wayyyy too much, but I just can't get enough of him!!!!

Re: Your pet's quirks?
A few:
Katie will hide in her bed if she sees the harness and leash. She has to be carried down the driveway to the other side of the street before she will walk and then she is fine
If she is given a special bone she will run all around the house crying and wimpering until she finds a good place to hide it
If there are clothes or towels on the floor she will nest in them

Mr. Darcy the Maine Coon: - paws at the side of the bed until I pat the mattress and "invite" him to join me - he never comes up until I do. He also does the same thing to DH when he's in the recliner.
- he's an indoor cat, but he loves to go outside and cries like crazy every time we go into the kitchen to be let out.
FitzpatricK: - lies down in the upstairs landing and sticks his paws through the railings of the stairs to smack us when we go downstairs. If we run our fingers along the railings he will pull himself along using his paws, even going around corners
- he wakes me every morning by standing on my tummy and licking me
OMG...my Mr. Blue does all of the above!
I'll add that he also:
-Wakes me up, without fail, every morning at the same time. If my alarm clock is not set (which happens a lot) I'm OK because Blue knows what time to wake me. He also knows to leave me alone on the weekend.
-He has to move his food bowl to the center of the room, then and only then will he eat.
-He turns around like 5 times and chases his tail before he'll lay down.

Re: Your pet's quirks?
This is a great thread! Espressso - Has to meow for food when I feed Misty - no matter how much is in his bowl or how fresh it is. Watches me clean his litter box and then goes right in to use it as soon as I am done. Waits for me to come out of the shower sitting on the toilet and then cries to get brushed. Scratches his scratching pad every time we come home.
Misty - Does the food thing- a few kibbles into the other room and back. Sticks her nose right up your butt for attention Has to sleep lying on or between my legs Runs to my car and sits next to the back door as soon as we let her out front.
Ya gotta love the quirkiness

Re: Your pet's quirks?
My silly dog:
Sim cant fall asleep unless DH is holding his paw.
When one of us comes home from work he will stand on his back legs and give you a hug then place his head on our shoulder.
if your sleeping he'll just stare at you then the minute you open your eyes he licks your face. Eyes closed nothing, eyes open your face is fair game to be licked
If the ferrets are sleeping and he cant see them he'll tap on their cage to make sure they are alright. I have to tell him "sim they're not dead they're sleeping"
if I tell him he's not a lap dog when he sits on me he gets insulted and goes to sulk in the corner. I have to then tell him ok sim you can be whatever you want to be. if you want to be a lap dog you're a 73 lb lap dog
Every morning I have to play find my bra because I'll lay my clothes out on the bed, go in the shower, get out and my bra and the dog are missing. I find the dog in the dining room and my bra hidden under the end table in the living room. I go to get my bra he bolts to get it first and move it to a different location.
He's 73 lbs of dopeyness

My cats: Disney picks up socks with her mouth and parades them all over the house
Disney answers to the name "poops"
Disney and jasmine lick us when they want attention
Disney will put her paw up like a dog on command...this is my favorite one!

My cat Gunnar can't drink from his water bowl unless he moves it first. No matter where it is - he'll move it across the room until he finds his perfect spot.
omg - my cat does this also! She will stick her paw right into the water and move the dish no matter where it is! LOL!
She also greets me no matter what time I come home. She lives w/ my Mom now since DH is allergic and I miss her terribly!

Re: Your pet's quirks?
My cat Shadow only likes to drink water out of a running faucet. Specifically DH's sink in the bathroom. I find her there every morning when I wake up meowing at me from the sink. Same thing when I come home from work, she runs straight for the bathroom.
She likes to hide behind corners and attack me as walk by, by jumping up and biting my azz
She's jealous of my laptop and whenever I'm on the couch with my computer in my lap she does everything in her power to push it away.
She likes to lick DH's hair
