"You're eating everything in sight" - Husband Vent
Seriously??? Ok I admit that the past few weeks I've been eating more and more often then normal but I'm pregnant! I'm 10 weeks now and I am hungry all the time. I'm trying to eat "healthy" but I do have my bad days; however, today wasn't one of them and DH made a nasty comment that's really bothering me.
Today I had cereal for breakfast, a salad for lunch, soup for a snack with saltines (so nauseous) and a piece of meatloaf with a bowl of Mac & Cheese for dinner. Oh I also had a peach and a plum sometime before the soup.
I personally don't think I ate like a pig today and that comment was beyond rude. "You're eating everything in sight".
I lost 11 pounds right before getting pregnant so my stomach was completely flat. Now I'm super bloated so I definitely look pregnant. He thinks I'm going to be a completely over weight pregnant girl and that's not me but these types of comments don't make me want to stop eating at all! Can someone please tell me I'm not wrong for being bothered by this and also how I can make DH understand that I need to eat!!!
ETA: I took the advice of hmm and told him I was hurt and my weight is normal and the only person who has a right to talk about my weight is my OB. He apologized multiple times and said he didn't realize how mean his comment was and how hurt I got. I guess I need to communicate with him too when I'm offended, just needed the right words so thank you everyone!!!

Im not pregnant but, if you husband is so worried perhaps he would like to carry something inside him for 9 months (im guessing he would opt not to) and not over eat somedays. So eat what you want, be kind to yourself... Tell him the only person who can make a comment about your weight is your Ob-GYN!!! until your OB is worried he should not be.
to answer your question, you are not wrong, he should keep those comments to himself JMO.

My husband made a stupid comment similar to this when I was pregnant with our first. I basically told him if he preferred he could carry her for the next 9 months or he could shut his mouth. He said something else recently (I'm 16 weeks and just starting to show) and I looked at him with the "death look" and said "take it back NOW." He knows he gets ONE comment per pregnancy and then he knows better after that.
