Yummy Dessert Ideas
I'm trying to think of some dessert ideas for a 4th of July gathering next weekend. It has to be portable and I can't refrigerate it because they never have room in their fridge. And I'm coming up empty, I feel like I've done everything before. I am doing chocolate churro bombs, but I wanted something else, too. I usually do s'mores bars, red velvet truffles, or cupcakes of all different flavors. I've done macarons, whoopie pies, actual pies (key lime, chocolate mousse, apple, coconut cream), roll out sugar cookies.
I was thinking a berry trifle or cheesecake stuffed strawberries, but no fridge space. Maybe cheesecake brownies? Or just plain old fudgy brownies? Maybe like a braided Nutella bread? My ILs aren't very cake-y so I feel like something simple or less sweet would be better... Any ideas?
ETA: My SIL usually does chocolate chip cookies and they are fantastic so I don't want something cookie-y. lol!

Sounds like you have chocolate covered. I would do some kind of fruit dessert like a berry crisp or lemon bars.

Re: Yummy Dessert Ideas
Hmm true, originally I had planned to do sopapilla cheesecake bars (Puff pastry, cheesecake filling, covered in cinnamon sugar- SO easy and AMAZING!) but then DH requested those churro bombs and honestly they sound so damn good. But you're right I think I need something fruit instead. That's why I thought berry trifle- with whipped cream and pound cake and red, white, and blue to boot, but ugh no fridge room.
Lemon bars do sound good though!
ETA: Hmm might do these mixed berry scones.
Link.

I made a peach bundt cake, pretty simple and it was great.

Re: Yummy Dessert Ideas
My kids love fruit kebabs. Just put fresh fruit on a stick.
Fruit salad in a cut-out watermelon
Is freezer space an option? Assorted ice cream sandwiches/treats from bjs Homemade ice cream sandwiches Homemade freezer pops (berries+yogurt) Watermelon roll
What about a dessert dip? Check out Pinterest for brownie or cookie dough dip.
Melt chocolate for fondue (skewer up fruit, marshmallows, etc)
Rainbow cookies
Grilled peaches served with ice cream/whipped cream
Angelfood cake or those cake cups with fresh berries
Brownies

No freezer space either. But we have someone in charge of fruit salad so I don't want to step on toes there. I wish I had the time to do rainbow cookies, they are me and DH's favorites, but I won't get the chance to! I like the angel food cake with fresh berries and whipped cream! THat could work!
