Zantac for bad acid reflux...
I have horrible, painful acid reflux right now, i can even describe how much it hurts. Can we take Zantac? I am 23 weeks....

Oh my goodness, I feel your pain - I am actually getting really bad tastes in my mouth from it. The last time I went to the doctor, he said Pepcid over the counter was fine to use...good luck - I know how terrible a feeling it is (even before I was preggo!)

23 weeks and using zantac 75!!! Yes, it is a life saver! He even said if 75 stops working I can go up to 150.

I lived on Zantac 150 for almost my entire pregnancy...Tums never helped...

I had acid reflux before I got pregnant, and was taking Prilosec. My OB didn't want me to keep taking that but she said Zantac and Pepcid are ok.
Tums are good for instant relief. The smoothie ones taste ok.
There's also something called Gaviscon which is like Tums. It works a little better but its VERY chalky.
I ended up going to see a Gastro and she prescribed Protonix which has been wonderful.

That is what my gastro guy told me to take when I first found out I was pregnant and the OB agreed. My reflux is getting worse and worse every week.

I take prilosec 25 mg once a day and have had None, i have it bad without being pregnant. With my first I destroyed my insides-I have to be on it...talk to your dr, the pros might outweigh the cons...its totally safe

I do pepcid AC... 1 to 2 a day.
I also take tums and milk.
The combo works for me. I've had heartburn since I was a teen.
I've heard girls on here taking zantac. It just didn't work for me.
