commute from Merrick to South Bronx near Lincoln Hospital
Hello, My husband and I are moving to Merrick from Queens. I currently work in the South Bronx. I know it is not going to be a joy ride but I am trying to gauge what the general commute would be. It is hard to tell with google at the moment since it is summer and school is not in session. Any info would be super helpful. Thank you!

At least an hour each way but I'd say 1.5 hr more like it. Could be better or worse some days. Traffic is starting to tick back up but until school is back full time and everyone is back at home it will be hard to tell. Summer is always lighter.

I’m in southern Westchester and drive to Merrick daily. I leave at 7:15 and get to Merrick by 8.
Coming home is an hour to an hour and 15 mins. I leave Merrick around 5.

Yea. It is hard to tell because of traffic right now. I know it is way off with school out and I work for the schools. But that was the time I was thinking as well.

watch the news or listen to 1010 AM station for traffic updates, that might help get a feel for AM/PM traffic

8am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.
I did the same a.m commute for about 17 years. It was about 1hr 10 minutes on regular traffic day. My goal to leave in the morning was 6:40am. September traffic will destroy your soul but it eases up by late October. It is stressful, not so much because of the length but because of the traffic and aggressive cutting after you hit queens/Bronx. I don’t know the 3pm commute but should be slightly more tolerable than the 5pm traffic.

Re: commute from Merrick to South Bronx near Lincoln Hospital
I am in Melville and I commute to the South Bronx (teacher). I leave my home at 5:30am and am at work by 6:30-6:45. If I leave at 5:45, I am there at 7:30 (that 15 minutes makes all the difference).
In the afternoon, it takes anywhere from 1.5 hours to 2 hours. Afternoon traffic is worse than the morning.
