Jones Beach - which field?
Dh & I went to field 2 last week. It was ok, but a long walk to the water. I checked the parking lot site to see the capacity & it seems like field 6 always fills up first. Is that where the boardwalk is? Why is it “the best”. What fields do you prefer & why? Is there anywhere where the water is calmer or is it all rough? Thanks!

Field 6 is the closest walk from the parking lot to the beach, that's why everyone likes it.
I think it's also a smaller parking lot hence why it fills up fast too

Thanks! I figured it had to be a shorter walk than field 2, that’s a trek lol

Thanks! I figured it had to be a shorter walk than field 2, that’s a trek lol
Yes 6 is the best. Jones Beach is putting a cone in every other parking space so all lots are filling up faster this summer. This lot also has that blue mat that you can walk on in the sand, which helps a lot.
4 & 5 are good but you have to walk under the tunnel but at least most of the walk is cement, not sand.
2 is horrible. VERY long walk in the sand from the bathroom to the shoreline. Avoid. Walking that was dreadful in the hot sun. Speaking from experience.

I know! We were at 2 last week & luckily didn’t have to use the bathroom until we left lol. Good to know that 4 & 5 can be our back up if 6 is full!

Learned that mistake a few weeks ago.
Fairly Empty but dreadful....

So yeah, we went to field 4 today & it’s the same long walk as field 2...plus the path to the parking lot! Field 6 was full at 9am & 2 was full by 11am. Crazy!
Anyone ever go to Zach’s Bay by field 5? Or by the fishing piers at field 10...can you swim over there?
