Re: Pool Closing

It really depends on the weather. If it's still warm in Sept we leave it open until the end of the month.
I have a heater though.
Dh likes to close it earlier than I do because he compalins about wasting chemicals and electric if we are barely using it.
It's been pretty hot this month so I will give it another 2 weeks and see.

End of September/beginning of October. We do not have a heater but we believe it’s better to leave it open until the weather gets really cool to prevent the growth of algae (from the sun beating down on the cover for so long). This process has worked in our favor.

I just ordered a new pool cover yesterday. It won't be ready for about 3 weeks. Once it is ready, the place I ordered it from will come and close the pool. Because of that, it will probably be a little later this year than normal. I usually close it around the 2nd-3rd week of Sept (I don't have a heater)

Same here, close late open early. We typically close it the first week of October.

Re: Pool Closing

We usually leave it open till later in the Fall. We do have a heater, but stop using it around now bc it costs too much to keep it heated. Only just nice to look at with it open. Especially this year when we have no vacation plans Chat Icon

I'm going to say mid oct. We are hoping to use the backyard more this winter and got a few heaters for the outside and a TV. Nice to look at the pool.

Last years we closed it during Columbus day weekend - I’d rather look at an open pool instead of a covered pool!
