Where are your doctors located?

I moved to Long Island from Brooklyn 16 months ago. After living here 7 months, just before COVID shut down in March I went for an annual physical with a primary doctor near my new house on LI.

I see a Gastroenterologist for the last 5 years & her office is in Brooklyn.
I see an Eye Specialist for the last 10 years & their office is in Brooklyn.

My obgyn, dentist & Neurologist are all located in Manhattan near my office. I’ve been going to all of these doctors for 10+ years.

I see all of my specialist twice a year, except my ob.

I have been reluctant to find new specialist because I have a great long term relationship with all of them but this year with COVID it was hard to travel to see them since I am still working from home.

Did you or do you think it would be a good idea to find doctors near my home? TIA

Where are your doctors located?

All my doctors are close by my house- all affiliated with stony brook and I live a few minutes from the hospital- so locally!

If you like your doctor and Brooklyn/ manhattan aren’t too far to go a few times a year I would stick with your doctor. I’ve always lived where I am but if I moved into Nassau I would move my doctors. I like convenience! But I know many who stick with their doctors because of ongoing care etc.

I was going back and forth when I moved here from Brooklyn 11 years ago. It became a pain in the butt with traffic on days they had appts available for me.

It took me years to find drs I was happy with but I have finally collected all new drs here. My primary is close to home. So is my obgyn. But my specialists who I see 1-2x a year are in nassau county. 20 min drive from me, so no need to find someone closer. It was most Important for me to find a primary close because I see him more than any other dr (sick visits, follow up blood work, etc)

Where are your doctors located?

Most of my doctors are within 15 minutes of me, some are within 2 miles. My ophthalmologist is the furthest at about 20/25 minutes.

Mine are in the city. I will travel for the best doctors.
