Re: Shower debate

I washed mine everyday until recently. It just looked so oily when I was commuting & working all day.

DH washed his every day.

I think if you have short hair, damaging it by washing everyday isn't as much of a concern, because it is trimmed more frequently, so the damage gets cut off.

I have 2 sons, 17 and 15. They wash their hair every day because they wake up every morning looking like they were electrocuted, and no amount of combing or spritzing it with water can make it behave.

DS showers daily but I have to remind him to wash his hair. He probably only does it a couple of times a week. But his hair is very thick and on the longer side so he probably finds it a hassle. I don't push it. I just smell him periodically lol.

Same here. I say, c'mere and let me sniff you.Chat Icon

They wash their hair every night for bedtime. Once in a blue moon if we’re gettung home late from somewhere or something like that happens, then they don’t wash their hair. DH washes his hair everyday when he gets home and then again if he goes to the gym.

Same happens with DS1, his hair looks like a bird nest when he wakes up! Chat Icon. U might want to try to spray warm hair (more hot than cold) when combing it, it does the trick for my son’s hair.

Re: Shower debate

If we go nowhere I don’t push for my kids to shower until it’s been days.

With that said when my DS is in the shower honestly if I don’t pay attention I am sure he doesn’t doesn’t wash his hair. I’m lucky if he remembers to wash his body. Mind you I still have him use the all in one body wash and shampoo he just hates soap on his face so he avoids washing is hair!!

This reminds me of my kids when I tell them to wash their hands in the bathroom while I’m in the kitchen. They come to me all happy and say...”I washed my hands, smell!” Yes, their hands do smell like soap but then I think they could have easily just put some soap on their hands and immediately rinse their hands without technically ‘washing’ their hands. Try goggles in the shower/bath. It works most of the time for us. My DS also hate water on his face. He actually won't even go off the diving board because they won't allow you to do so with goggles on.

I am totally going to try this. I usually use cold water to try and get it down. Thanks for the tip!!
