Need some help with a big birthday
My mother is having a milestone birthday this year. It will also mark the end of her giving me free child care for the past 10 years so I want to do something really special for her. I was thinking of taking her away some place...it would probably be my family, so not just a girls thing. Maybe a fun destination? A cool airbnb someplace interesting? Maybe a destination with a specific activity to do? My mother is well travelled. She loves it. She is always up for a good time so really any place would work. Any suggestions?

Hawaii?
I would love to do that but I don't think DH and I can get the vacation time for that and its in the fall and the kids are in school. That would be epic though. My brother and I were just saying Costa Rica but maybe we should look into that. He was supposed to go for his 40th last year but that got cancelled obviously. We COULD go in the summer. Hmmm...

I would do something over the summer. When it was my grandma’s 90th, we did a cruise in a June for her October birthday so the entire family could attend.

hawaii does sound amazing, right now!!
i do agree with the idea that the timing doesn't have to be exact to her birthday. DS's birthday is in february and i celebrated a lot of his birthdays in the spring to take advantage of warmer weather.

Re: Need some help with a big birthday
Mexico has some of the most beautiful all inclusives. Secrets in an American owned company that has the top resorts there. We've been to a few and if you're bringing kids then Dreams is great. Owned by Secrets, but for families. WE've been to Mexico 3 times the last few years and only stay at a Secrets owned. I did hear Grand Moon Palace is amazing as well and when things get better we will look into that.

What about Aruba. We have been looking at that, as I always wanted to go. Atlantis in the Bahamas is beautiful and so much to do (but expensive).

Need some help with a big birthday
We have done a couple of these with/for my parents. We did the Bahamas, Punta Cana, Crystal Springs Resort in NJ, Cape May, NJ and we are doing Iceland in November. Usually 5 days/4 nights is plenty of time!
