Re: Any 2021 Travel Plans?
We're pushing our vacations to 2022- March and September. Hopefully the world collectively gets it sh!t together by then.
We may do a small trip like Great Wolf Lodge or something in the spring for the kids birthdays. But we'd go during the week to try and avoid any crowds.
ETA: We're also planning on going camping- with and without the kids over the summer. We went for DH's birthday this past September and lucky us got the one weekend where it was 30 degrees at night!! Not this year, we're going when it's warm dammit.

Any 2021 Travel Plans?
We went to Rocking Horse Ranch a couple of weeks ago. We had a great time there! Everything was spotless, all protocols being followed, and pretty empty (we went mid week and just did schooling in the lobby). The buffet is no longer self serve, we weren't even allowed to touch the drink dispensers, it was great. They had a lot of doors open with increased ventilation, and reservations required for pool. We spent a lot of time skiing and snowtubing, so were outside a lot. I recommend it if you feel comfy going away during this time

I'm looking for some place to go soon because I'm about to lose my ever loving mind if I have to stay around here any longer. Truly truly for my mental health I need to GTFOH I will look into this- where is it? Upstate NY?

Re: Any 2021 Travel Plans?
I just booked a long camping weekend at Jellystone Park for the end of the July. I need something to look forward too. Pushing our California trip that we had to cancel last July to 2022. So sad.

I don't blame you! It's in the Catskills, it's about a 2.5 hour drive away (I'm in Port Jeff). Mid week is so much cheaper than the weekend. It's expensive, but worth it because it includes every single thing. All meals, snacks, skiing, tubing, horseback riding, everything. If you sign up for the their email list, they often have specials (I had a $100 off a night special that I booked on Black Friday). We also like to get there at 1pm on check in day and stay pretty late on check out day, just to maximize the cost value! They also have a new and great outdoor hot pool. It was my fav! We have been going there for years, but honestly this was my favorite year going since it wasn't busy!

I've been wanting to do an outdoor hot pool. I looked at Minerals in NJ but then there were awful awful reviews on Trip Advisor and we got turned off. How are the rooms at Rocking Horse?

It's definitely basic and rustic looking, but updated rustic! Think dude ranch decor. I'm pretty picky and it's fine for us. We do the bunk bed room so no one has to share a bed. The hot pool isn't huge, but it was so nice to just sit in there outside! They have a firepit right next to it also.

We recently stayed in the Finger Lakes region at the Lake House at Candanaigua. It's a recently constructed modern hotel, we stayed as a winter getaway with skiing at Bristol Mountain and snowtubing in area. It was a good time and nice to feel like a vacation.

Any 2021 Travel Plans?
Looks like we'll be camping 4 times this summer. My bf has a large camper (2 bedrooms and 2 baths) - so we'll be taking all the kids (5 of them!) to a local lake for Spring Break, then Jellystone parks outside DC, VA caverns, and NC mountains.

Re: Any 2021 Travel Plans?
We are going to Jamaica as a couple in May for three nights. My mom won the trip for us last year and we rescheduled twice so hopefully we can go this time. Also booked cap Cana in the DR for July bc I really really want to get out of here and we are betting and hoping things will be a lot better by then. We are vaccinated.

Any 2021 Travel Plans?
We are planning to go to Myrtle Beach at the end of the summer for a couple of weeks (one plus to working remotely is we can go away longer).
We're also planning a couple of long weekends to Lake George and Block Island (just DH and I).
We have some time share points we banked prior to the pandemic so we need to use them this year - we're hoping to go away in the fall somewhere fun.

Just a heads up that Travelzoo is offering a great deal on Iceland again through Icelandair! You do have to be vaccinated to travel to Iceland though

Any 2021 Travel Plans?
Okay so Iceland has been cancelled since they still require you to test and quarantine while waiting on results even if you have been immunized. So, forget that for a shorter trip. and their rules change often.
Booked Costa Rica. Any tips on what you absolutely loved in the La Fortuna area and Guanacaste? Doing 4 nights in a rainforest villa, 3 nights at the beach area in Guanacaste.

When we went to Costa Rica Arenal-La Fortuna area we did white water rafting, zip lining, horseback riding, went to the hot springs I believe it was at Tabacon one night and also the volcano. Everything was great. I remember seeing a lot of ATV tours there too but we didn't do it.
