Anyone in NY gone to a store today
Wondering how the mask situation is working. I need to run to the bank and mall tomorrow and will be prepared to have to wear a mask as I haven’t heard about individual stores yet, just the bigger chains.

Anyone in NY gone to a store today
Today I went to the bagel store, post office, and Target.
Everyone was still wearing a mask. (Although at Target I just had a return so I only saw a few customers. But employees still wore masks.)

Hmm ok. I know Target they said vaccinated employees don’t have to wear them but maybe they are not (as I am sure they question them) or just not ready.

My guess is you will see MANY still masking up for quite some time regardless of the mandates being lifted. I am sure it will take time before most people are going without.

I think its going to be a slow re-opening. My office lifted the mask mandate this week. Nobody was really wearing masks (although I did when I left my personal office just out of habit) but I can also say that nobody was congregating and chit chatting maskless. Like people would stand at my office doorway and chat from 15' away.

I went to Starbucks, the nail salon, and the dentist. Everyone was wearing a mask that I saw.

I saw 1 guy last night in Home Depot without a mask on. It was in the outside plant section though at the register. I thought, well he is about 6 hours early before this all starts lol

Funny as Trader Joe’s is the first one to say they won’t even ask.
I wonder if people don’t know as I have come across 2 people that didn’t know about the change.

Anyone in NY gone to a store today
One of my fiends works in target(not naming the location) . She had said that people who are wearing masks were giving dirty looks to people who aren’t wearing masks, curse at them , a few fights have already broken out and cops had to be called for one of them I have to go to stop and shop in the next couple days so I’ll see what goes on there. Someone posted on Facebook this morning that he went to Starbucks maskless today and had no issues.

Oh wow that is crazy. It is horrible the divide this has become.
My friend just told me everyone but a few older people wore no masks at the gym today.

I went to Target it in Bay Shore today without a mask. Almost everyone had them on. One employee didn’t. I was asking her about it. She said staff was notified by corporate that they are not allowed to ask anyone’s vaccination status.
Went to King Kullen, security stopped me and said I needed a mask. They were insistent until I left my cart and was going to leave then they said I can stay and shop not to worry about it. Someone else stopped me in KK and I said security said to stay without a mask and they just kind of shrugged their shoulders and walked away. Someone in the snack aisle who was double masked and wearing gloves mumbled something but I carried on.
Panera no issues at all.

Costco had a ton of people with no masks. Employees too. A lot of masks busts covering the mouth too. Nice to see people’s faces finally.

What I don’t understand is that people on Facebook are taking photos of themselves and their kids (under 12) I’m stores maskless. Don’t kids have to wear the mask or are they not allowed to ask questions?

They are not allowed to ask questions.
People need to rip the bandaid off or we will be masked forever. If you don’t feel comfortable stay masked or stay home.
