Getting a baby tooth pulled
Has anyone's kid had to have a baby tooth pulled? My son is going tomorrow - the adult tooth has come in below it but, the tooth isn't that wiggly so it's just very uncomfortable and awkward.
Just wondering what the process is like.

Re: Getting a baby tooth pulled
My DD has had a few pulled because her adult teeth came in behind her baby teeth. It's a quick process, they numb her so it doesn't hurt and have done laughing gas on ocaassion too. The first day they were pulled she was slightly uncomfortable but it heals very quickly since it's a baby tooth, she was fine in a day or so. Good luck to your DS.

Re: Getting a baby tooth pulled
I had almost all mine pulled as I was not a wiggler. My kids also had to have some pulled for multiple reasons. Numbing and possibly sweet air. If they need sweet air they will provide you (at a $90 charge) with the piece they put over the nose which you can keep for the future if they need it again.

Getting a baby tooth pulled
Thanks! He's a bit nervous but, he's uncomfortable otherwise and the baby tooth isn't really budging so I feel it's the best option.
I told him the tooth fairy brings more $$ if they have to pull it.

Re: Getting a baby tooth pulled
My daughter will probably need some pulled if they don't' fall out on their own by Oct because she desperately needs braces and they wont' do it until al her baby teeth are gone. She had 5 left- but just lost 2 recently- so we are down to 3. They said it's pretty easy because baby teeth are not deeply rooted.

I had that done as a kid but I went to an oral surgeon - this is just at the dentist...

Re: Getting a baby tooth pulled
My dd had 5 baby teeth pulled at once, 4 were already loose but not falling out due to gum tissue being attached and one canine that the orthodontist wanted pulled because her adult canine above that is impacted...it was actually really quick about 15 minutes...they gave her novacaine -no gas. I would say the worst one was the canine because the root was so big still, but she was totally fine maybe some discomfort the first day but it was way better than expected. This was done by our regular dentist.

Getting a baby tooth pulled
My DD had one pulled this January because the root died from an accident. Quick, painless. Afterwards it was like nothing happened.

Thanks - they numbed him and pulled it right out. He's fine now and writing a letter to the Tooth Fairy to let her know it was pulled out.
