Re: Help me plan a vacation for my wife

And Bermuda is far enough north that there is plenty of warning if there are any potential hurricanes headed that way.
Yes - you know days in advance. And there is just as much risk of a hurricane hitting Bermuda as there is it hitting the Bahamas or Florida.
One overall question I have though - is your wife on board with traveling alone? Like GoldenRod said - you don't want to stress her out to start her vacation.

Help me plan a vacation for my wife
I don’t have any recommendations but I do have to say this is extremely thoughtful of you and something all spouses should try and do for one another!

Help me plan a vacation for my wife
Thank you all for helping to assuage my concern about hurricane season. My wife is the one who mentioned it, her friend is currently in Puerto Rico and she said there's been heavy rains.
I think Bermuda is currently out of the running - she looked at flights and its running about $350 she feels its too expensive and not worth it. I told her who cares about the flight cost but she disagrees. and unfortunately there's no availability for me to use my hotel points, so thats two strikes against Bermuda.
Will have to look into other options.
Thanks

She seems to be ok with it, but now shes saying its going to be too expensive and not worth it. So *shrug*

What hotel chain do you have points with? There are nice resorts across Florida.
The Ritz Carlton and Omni are really nice in Amelia Island, FL, near Jacksonville. And right on the beach.
Charleston/Isle of Palms South Carolina is a really nice area and I have had friends vacation there on their own.
Or - if she wants to go north - Newport, RI is nice as well as Martha's Vineyard and Cape Cod. We really like Block Island, RI as well but it's pretty booked up this summer.

Have you considered a local overnight getaway? This way she gets the break for a day or two but doesn't have to travel far from home or spend a lot of money.

Re: Help me plan a vacation for my wife
The year before last I went on a Momcation by myself to Aruba! It was AWESOME!!
I highly recommend the Renaissance! I felt very safe there! They have a private island you take their boat to and the beach is so nice and has flamingos! There were kayaks and paddle boards you could rent on the island to paddle around the small lagoon. They had floats to lay on in the lagoon, and you could rent a nice cabana. I met other people traveling solo, it was great! Cocktail and food service on the beach. I would take the first boat over to the island and the last one back! I ordered room service every night and sat on the balcony with chocolate cake to watch the sunset. It was the most amazing vacation by myself, EVER!
PS, the Renaissance is a Marriott, and the point redemption rate is great, that's what I used! I booked the Marina hotel side (adults only), but with Titanium status was upgraded to the Island side with a oceanfront room (it's all suites on that side and for families). Status gets you free breakfast. Side note, she can't let them know you aren't there traveling with her. You would add her name as a check in person, and when she arrives she would just say you are getting there later. Otherwise they are stingy about the breakfast perk! There is a high end mall attached to the Marina hotel side with super nice shops.
Also, Aruba doesn't have hurricanes for some reason! The hotel is about 5 minutes from the airport. I was easily able to get a taxi (they have an organized line and the price is a set rate).
