Dog walking etiquette question

I never had dogs so I wanted some opinions on this from the dog owners/dog walkers.

There is a woman who walks her dogs frequently past my house. She always picks up their poop with the little baggies Great.

On garbage day, our garbage truck comes early- like 6:15 am. The cans are then out there empty until DH takes DD to the bus at around 7:30 because we are running around getting ready, getting dressed etc during that time frame.
During that time we have seen her walk past our empty trash can- no bag in it- just empty- and drop the bag of poop in it.
So now when DH goes to bring in our can, he has to fish out the bag of poop and dispose if it in our garage.

I don't know, I just find that a little disrespectful. If the garbage can was still full and waiting for the truck to come, have at it. When we had a dumpster in our driveway for work being done in the house people would walk by and throw the poop bags in there, fine whatever it's a dumpster.

But when my can is empty, we now have to fish your dog poop bag out of it our self.
It's not a huge deal, but it's kind of gross.

Just wondering what others thought about this.
Again, first world problem, but I was curious other's thoughts on this.

I would never do that. I would pick up after the dog and carry the little baggy home.

I found one of the those little poop bags in my garden the other day and I was pi$$ed.

That's not right. I would never do that. Even if the garbage men haven't come yet and the can is still full, I feel bad doing that. But, I have to admit, I have done it once or twice in the past 3 years, when the garbage men got to my house while I was walking my dog and emptied my garbage can but hadn't yet gotten to a house I was walking by and the cans were still full (but even then, I do feel a little guilty about it and I would only do it if there is no lid - I would never take the lid off to do that)

I know people who do it but, I would be unhappy as my garbage men only pick up the big bags in there - they don't dump the can into the truck. My friend asked to do it once and I said let me bring out another garbage bag that you can add it to otherwise they won't take it (and it smelled something awful as her dog is large).

I would not do that. DH and I have dogs, and we bring the poop bags back to our house after their walks and put the bags in our own outside garbage.

It’s wrong to do. I would fish it out and deposit it on her steps if you know where she lives.

NEVER in a million years would I ever do that. I would just hold onto that bag until I got home.
I would take the bag out and throw it in her garbage.
Or in her mailbox!!!!

I would never throw it in an empty one for the reason that it will be stuck in the bottom of the can.

I hate when my husband's friend will come over and decides to clean out his car and throws his trash in the bin and there is nothing in there.

sometimes my garbage man will just take the 2 bags of garbage out and not pick up the can so everything will remain at the bottom. Then I have to go and empty the can into a bag.

I saw a lady untie one of my garbage bags once and put her dog poop bag in there and it annoyed me so I cant imagine dropping that in an empty can.

She has done this on several occasions?

But because they come so early; I wonder how you would avoid this idiot in doing so?

No, I agree with you. I will toss it in a can that has an OPEN bag of garbage but not an empty can. That is rude.

I don't ever do that. I always bring it home and put it in my own cans. And it annoys me if someone else puts theirs in ours.

I bring my poop bags home with me BUT there have been early mornings where I’d see a full trash can at the curb and throw it on top (only if I was far from home and knew they would poop again)

Lmao my MIL once caught our neighbor doing this exact thing one morning and she yelled at her. The lady took off and we haven't seen it happen again. Honestly I didn't see the big deal but I guess after these responses I can see your point.

Thanks all for the replies. I wasn't sure if we were just being too sensitive about it.
But yeah, DH had mentioned he wishes he could bring the poop bag and leave it at her house after he fishes it out of our empty can. LOL
And the only way to stop it would be to grab the can as soon as the truck comes by, but they come early and that's the last thing on our mind at that hour.

this is super passive aggressive. but can you take it and put it in her empty trash can? do you know where she lives? or yell out when she is doing it and say that you would appreciate if she didn't put trash in your garbage cans when there is no garbage bag in the can?

I'm sorry that's rude especially since it's an empty can. We carry our dogs poop home...gross I know lol..but we dispose of it in our own garbage can unless we pass a public trash can which we usually don't.
