Mandated gardasil vaccine
Since so many are all about mandated vaccines for the good of society
How would you feel if your 10 year old son and/or daughter was mandated to get this vaccine to attend school?
I’m just curious where people who are pro Covid vaccine fall on this one as I refused to get this for my son and most likely my daughters.

For me, it's all about research. My decision for or against either vaccine has been based on what I can learn and verify from more then one source.
There is so much disinformation out there. There is much to learn when you can follow a path and there are independently verifiable information.

Because they are two different issues. Gardasil is not fighting off something that can be transmitted by air or could cause the person next to you to get sick. Schools should not be issuing a mandate on a vaccine that will not affect others around you.

COVID is a GLOBAL health crisis, you can't really compare the Gardasil vaccine to the COVID vaccine. Two entirely different beasts.

Yes. But at the same time two vaccines that prevent something that won’t kill you (boys). Covid death rate amongst children is minimal. I can’t see the logic in forcing a vaccine amongst a group of people who do not benefit

I’ll never say never. I’m still researching it. I have years until they are of age to get it.
I’m asking more why it was a definite ‘no’ for your son and not sure about your daughters? Do you think your son doesn’t need it for some reason? Because men can be affected by HPV and cancers from it as well.

This. Exactly. My kid isn't getting HPV from being in school or crowds of people.

There has already been talks about mandating this for school. Before Covid came out I already had this debate and I thought that since it’s not spreadable through air it’s not nesscary.
With that said however whatever vaccines or mandated my child will have to get because I am not homeschooling them. Vaccines are already mandated for school so it’s nothing new to have mandatory vaccines

Agree!! I got it for my son, do not think it should be mandated along with Covid and Flu shot.

Exactly. Once HPV starts spreading IN school, we have bigger issues, lol
Although I want to research it more, I don’t think it’s necessary to attend school.

While I see nothing wrong with getting the Gardasil vaccine for your child if you so choose, I see no reason for it to be mandated to attend school.

Agree!! I got it for my son, do not think it should be mandated along with Covid and Flu shot.

I’m fine with it. My son will get it. As someone who had years of additional test and procedures due to HPV I’d have gotten it as a child/teen to avoid that I would have.

Maybe it isn’t NEEDED for middle school but I don’t think it’s unreasonable for it to be mandated for hs and certainly for college.
If I recall, I was attacked on here once because I found it hard to believe that kids were engaging in sex acts in middle school. So I do find it funny that the same people are insisting it isn’t “needed” for school.
