There are treatments if you get Covid.

There are vaccines available if you are high risk.

Covid is going nowhere.

When do we get to live our lives normally?

When do my kids get to go to school normally?

When can I go to work without crazy testing or vaccine requirements?

When can I go to NYC without a vaccine I don’t need?

When? When? When? Covid is here to stay. Vaccine or no vaccine it’s staying.

Push people to get treatments right when they come down with symptoms.

Push the at risk to get the vaccine.

Push a healthy diet and lifestyle.

THIS!!!!

Push a healthy diet and lifestyle.

Pretty sure most of what you list has been tried and look at where we are........ almost 2 years later

Yes, this. And there aren’t many ICU beds in the South, atm.

The best thing I can see, IMO, is that having a vaccine helps against being hospitalized. Seeing reports of people in the South saying they wish they had gotten the vaccine on their death beds or nearly close is enough for me. These are areas with low vaccination rates and low mask mandates.

I’m not really sure what people expect and why they keep asking when? Like, are you blind? There is pandemic.

FL has gone maskless since almost the beginning. They lifted mandates spring/summer last year. All of a sudden vaccines come out and they are overwhelmed with cases?
If the problem was no masks, more people, who had no access to vaccines a year ago would be sick.
Have you seen the people they interviewed on their death beds supposedly begging for a vaccine? I read a story of a man who took a trip and got sick and then died of covid. They showed a picture. He was HUGE. I am NOT saying in any way that I think it is ok that he died as I know how this board is. My point being, he was NOT healthy. No matter what illness he got, he had less of a chance to recover faster or live.
Stories like those scare people as they make it sound like he was all fine, came for vacation and boom he died. Not once did they say he had issues but pictures do not lie. There is NO way you could be, say 300 or more pounds and be healthy.

These stories don’t “scare” me, so quit it with your assumptions. And listening to your logic is like nails on a chalkboard. Facts and figures don’t lie (edit: the CURRENT Delta variant is much more contagious). I mean you should know this with your 15-year history of various screen names, Hazel.

You proposed promoting a healthy diet. What is your plan for that when people get the disease in 5 days and these non-healthy 300 lb people die in 2 weeks?

What is your solution? Because all I hear is Charlie Brown’s teacher’s voice from you.

Why can't you just have a discussion without getting nasty?
I have stated over and over about promoting healthy habits and lifestyles. Do you honestly think this is being done? Wash your hands? Come.on. That is taught at 2 years old and that is not all people should be doing.
Instead of bribing people to get a vaccine with junk food, how about doing something more healthy?

How about instead of giving free needles for drug addicts, we give free insulin for diabetics?

You might not be scared but if you read many online posts, people are scared and if you don't think that is the media's intention then you must be living under a rock.

Because you keep spouting a healthy life style as a cure for COVID.......in case you weren't paying attention for the last 1+ years......even HEALTHY people can die from COViD. Just because he was overweight doesn't mean he wouldn't have lived until 70 or 80 years old if he haven't gotten COVID. So don't use the excuse that he was Fat as a reason to justify his death.

Yes keeping your immune system up, like what these vaccines are doing.

My POINT is that he was NOT healthy and OBESITY and DIABETES is a BIG reason people go into the hospital and die from covid.
I didn't make that up either, FYI, it was from my child's doctor who WORKS IN A HOSPITAL and knows the patients that have come in. Chat Icon

You are so freaking infuriating!!! Obese, thin, healthy, smoker, non smoker.. .THIS IS A NOVEL VIRUS, a FREAKING pandemic!!!! This is NOT a run of the mill situation. These deaths are potentially avoidable or at least more so IF people would take the advise of science, get the vaccine and wear a mask. Are you that thick headed you don't see that? Or maybe you just like the drama you cause. Just because your brother's girlfriend's aunt's sister's husband's step daughter gives you your "facts" does not make them true. Read REAL facts and REAL data. And THEN you can POSSIBLY have an intelligent conversation, Hazel.

You flip flop more than a fish out of water. Chat Icon

Clearly you're back to railing on how being healthy will "save you from COVID" and yet just a week or two ago you were literally agreeing with me when I said healthy people can get sick and die from this virus while unhealthy people can recover fine and vice versa. You further agreed that many "healthy" people can have underlying conditions they are unaware of AND you stated that you "know someone" with a perfectly healthy, young daughter who died of COVID.

So which is it? You're all over the place with this being healthy argument you keep peddling.

The FACT remains that there is NO way to know for sure how your own body will behave when sick with COVID. We've seen 100 year old people recover and 25 yr olds die from it. We've seen healthy people very ill and seemingly unhealthy, overweight people be asymptomatic. You just don't know.

Nobody will argue that taking care of your health is important but "being healthy" is not a guarantee of anything. None of us know what genetic defects or underlying issues we might be walking around with until something triggers them. We all assume we're healthy until we're not. COVID DOESN'T DISCRIMINATE.

VB/WINDY AGREEING THAT BEING HEALTHY IS NO GUARANTEE WHEN IT COMES TO COVID

Chat Icon

Did you even READ my responses? Obviously not. That is NOT what I said.

So much for your self control NOT to answer me anymore.

Actually, I did. It's EXACTLY what you said unless of course you went back and edited your response.

Aren't you tired of making brain dead responses on EVERY thread?

—----------------------------------------
My comment..........

To add, many "healthy" people are walking around with undiagnosed underlying issues. Just because a person *thinks* they are healthy doesn't always mean they are free from genetic defects and/or underlying health issues such as diabetes, BP issues, thyroid disease, cancer, etc. You can have any number of health issues and still be walking around feeling fine and healthy..........until you're not.

I always like to refer back to Bob Harper, he's literally the picture of health and has dedicated his life to fitness and yet, he suffered a widow maker heart attack that could've killed him.

"Perfectly healthy people" can get COVID and become very ill and even die and "unhealthy" people can get COVID and recover easily. And vice versa. The FACT is that with COVID, it's a total cr@p shoot. It's an unpredictable virus that behaves so differently from person to person that there is simply NO way to know how your own body will react to the virus no matter how healthy or unhealthy you think you are. That's what makes COVID such an unnerving virus to get sick with and why *most* people have gotten vaccinated.

Your reply..............

OMG can this even be possible that we agree on something??? lololol. I say the same thing, all.the.time and from experience. I personally had an issue and my child went into ketoacidosis. We both never knew we had these underlying things.

One of my girlfriends just said her daughter's neighbor just died of covid and she thinks she was healthy. You just do NOT know as even as much as you might see that person and they might even think they are healthy, they might not be.

I honestly don't think there are many 100% healthy people (more adults of course) in this world. There is always something, someone has that could cause other issues in their lives.
