Windy do you ever stop to think that maybe these restrictions are being put into place to avoid what happened at the beginning of the pandemic here in the NY area?
We didn’t have this in the beginning of the pandemic …
92.1% of New Yorkers over the age of 65 are vaccinated. NY is at 72.3% for ages 18-64. What’s it going to take to end it?!?! We were told 70% is the magic number
You are 100% correct. They keep changing the goal posts. Choice is the answer. Wear your mask if you want and allow those who do not, to assume their own risk, which is minimal for many.
The goal posts will NEVER end until people start standing up for themselves and questioning why they are doing this or that. It is obvious from here that people will just listen and do whatever is told to them.
If at this point you don't know why, there is no helping you. It's been stated on this board 100's if not 1000's of times. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it wrong. And those that abide by what is required are not sheep. Get over your holier than though attitude, thinking that because you "question" everything (without truly looking for the facts") that you are right about everything
I thought you were done?
Oh...you're so clever. Glad you got a good laugh in for today.
Why don't you ever answer a substantive question with some correct information?
You seemed to have ended that conversation above as you said you were done.

Has anyone questioned if this vaccine has worn off in certain people and that is why they are getting sick?
The percentage goes down after a certain amount of time, 4-6 months for Pzifer was already established.
How long does vaccine last - ACTUAL FACTS
But please, keep trying to convince everyone on here that ZERO percent protection against this virus is way better.
"That study did not include the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which was authorized a couple months later than the other two, and which scientists are still gathering data on."
"No one knows for sure whether one vaccine will last longer than another."
Hmmm...I think I just said THIS:
“It’s also possible that the length of immunity is somewhat dependent on the patient,” Dr. Meyer adds. While more research is needed, there could be variations in immune responses from person to person based on such factors as age, medical conditions, and medications they may be taking.

The way you cherry pick a sentence or two in order to try and support your narrative while ignoring the broader point of the ENTIRE article which says the vaccines have been proven to be very effective is comical.
Aren't you exhausted from wasting HOURS of your life EVERY day on this forum spewing your vaccine bull$hit???
-------------
In the meantime, there are a few things we know. One is that the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna mRNA vaccines have performed well so far. The most recent Pfizer-BioNTech data shows 91% overall efficacy falling to 84% at the six-month mark, and a steady 97% against severe disease, based on a July preprint that has not been reviewed by outside scientists. Moderna’s vaccine was 93% effective overall through six months and 98% effective against severe disease, according to a company statement in August. The latest data does not specify effectiveness against Delta.
Other research shows both mRNA vaccines set off an immune response that could last much longer—even years—against the original virus strain, based on a study published in July in Nature. That study did not include the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which was authorized a couple months later than the other two, and which scientists are still gathering data on.
“The current data on the [Pfizer and Moderna] mRNA vaccines is very promising,” says Akiko Iwasaki, PhD, a professor of immunobiology at Yale School of Medicine and an investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

You respond to almost every post on this entire board -whether you have something valid to add or not. You respond seconds after someone responds to you, all day long.
And apparently you have no understanding of what the term "cherry picking" actually means

You are 100% correct. They keep changing the goal posts. Choice is the answer. Wear your mask if you want and allow those who do not, to assume their own risk, which is minimal for many.
We also didn't have an even more highly contagious variant. "They" don't keep changing the goal posts, the virus does.
But less deadly variant.
I read something interesting that made me wonder - are the new “variants” coming from the vaccinated? It was interesting but I haven’t had time to look into it further.
But, maybe we should also close our border. Considering these variants are coming from other countries. But I guess we don’t follow that science?
I've never heard or read that it is less deadly.
One early study assessing the risk of hospital admission in Scotland reported that hospitalization is twice as likely in unvaccinated individuals with Delta than in unvaccinated individuals with Alpha.
Is the Delta variant more harmful?
I couldn’t get the link to work. I could post articles showing it’s less deadly too.
Bottom line…NY reached the 70%. Open up now.
And just wait until half those people who got vaccinated early on don’t get their boosters because of this nonsense that is unfolding. What then?
Did NY suddenly close its borders ? Aren't there states with high numbers? So we are going to open everything, get rid of masks, stop vaccinating but still expect our numbers to stay relatively low, even with letting people travel freely from high infection areas? Are you and windy the same person?

“ The doctor said he has 15 Covid-19 patients, and none of them have come anywhere near the hospital due to the treatment he has given them.”
*15*? That’s it? Yeah, I’d give a side eye to that doctor saying 15 patients is an accurate sample size.

Well while he is from Indiana, Suffolk County has 101 patients, 17 hospitals. That’s about 6 per hospital if all have patients. Why do you think he doesn’t know what he is doing because he might have 15 patients in total right now?
His county has 25,000 people while Suffolk has over a million.

He's a family medicine Dr. So, yes, the patients he sees are not those who are seriously ill. He is not an ER doc, a pulmonologist, or a Dr who would generally see more seriously ill patients. No idea what your trying to prove with this post.

office mandating masks again
There are treatments if you get Covid.
There are vaccines available if you are high risk.
Covid is going nowhere.
When do we get to live our lives normally?
When do my kids get to go to school normally?
When can I go to work without crazy testing or vaccine requirements?
When can I go to NYC without a vaccine I don’t need?
When? When? When? Covid is here to stay. Vaccine or no vaccine it’s staying.
Push people to get treatments right when they come down with symptoms.
Push the at risk to get the vaccine.
Push a healthy diet and lifestyle.

Yes, this. And there aren’t many ICU beds in the South, atm.
The best thing I can see, IMO, is that having a vaccine helps against being hospitalized. Seeing reports of people in the South saying they wish they had gotten the vaccine on their death beds or nearly close is enough for me. These are areas with low vaccination rates and low mask mandates.
I’m not really sure what people expect and why they keep asking when? Like, are you blind? There is pandemic.

FL has gone maskless since almost the beginning. They lifted mandates spring/summer last year. All of a sudden vaccines come out and they are overwhelmed with cases? If the problem was no masks, more people, who had no access to vaccines a year ago would be sick. Have you seen the people they interviewed on their death beds supposedly begging for a vaccine? I read a story of a man who took a trip and got sick and then died of covid. They showed a picture. He was HUGE. I am NOT saying in any way that I think it is ok that he died as I know how this board is. My point being, he was NOT healthy. No matter what illness he got, he had less of a chance to recover faster or live. Stories like those scare people as they make it sound like he was all fine, came for vacation and boom he died. Not once did they say he had issues but pictures do not lie. There is NO way you could be, say 300 or more pounds and be healthy.

These stories don’t “scare” me, so quit it with your assumptions. And listening to your logic is like nails on a chalkboard. Facts and figures don’t lie (edit: the CURRENT Delta variant is much more contagious). I mean you should know this with your 15-year history of various screen names, Hazel.
You proposed promoting a healthy diet. What is your plan for that when people get the disease in 5 days and these non-healthy 300 lb people die in 2 weeks?
What is your solution? Because all I hear is Charlie Brown’s teacher’s voice from you.

Re: office mandating masks again

There are treatments if you get Covid.
There are vaccines available if you are high risk.
Covid is going nowhere.
When do we get to live our lives normally?
When do my kids get to go to school normally?
When can I go to work without crazy testing or vaccine requirements?
When can I go to NYC without a vaccine I don’t need?
When? When? When? Covid is here to stay. Vaccine or no vaccine it’s staying.
Push people to get treatments right when they come down with symptoms.
Push the at risk to get the vaccine.
Push a healthy diet and lifestyle.
Waht exactly are the "treatments" you're talking about? There is no treatment for COVID. There are treatments for the symptoms, but no treatment actually specifically for COVID
