haven't liked a single Endo, they're all odd. But I always liked Dr. Yeal Harris in Great Neck.
Stay away from Pro Health In Bethpage Dr. Feiner and stay away from Dr. Pearlman, private practice.

I am actually looking for someone to replace him. His bedside manner is awesome. He's pretty straight forward - but when an MD says to me there isn't anything I can do for you except prescribe X medication (and only wants to monitor the efficacy of that medication 1x per year) - it's time to go elsewhere.

I have to say, all my Endo have said that to me. Thyroid issues, wt issues since going on medication... I get told, sorry, can't help its not an endo issue... Who knows that's one reason I really stopped going to most M.D. I'm fed up with the crap out there.

I was diagnosed with Grave's Disease a year ago, thyroid issues unfortunately run on both sides of my family. He put me on a thyroid med and I see him about every 4 months to monitor my thyroid functions, the course of treatment for the meds is 12-18 months. He also required blood work every month for the first 6 months. He's very thorough IMO.
I was also on Metformin (Rx from him) for Type 2 diabetes which I developed after having gestational diabetes twice. My sugars were always controlled but I was fed up with taking any more medication than absolutely necessary. So, last October I stopped the Metformin, started strength training and walking/hiking EVERY day and I completely overhauled my diet. Long story short, I completely reversed my diabetes by January. My A1C went from 6.2 to 5.6 which is a completely normal, non-diabetic level. He was thrilled and had no issues with my dropping the meds.
Point is, I definitely think that no matter the dr you have to speak up and advocate for yourself. A doctors job is to keep you alive and medicine is the easiest option for them because it works AND because most people won't take their advice and put in the work to improve their own health. But I have found that both Terrana as well as my other doctors are MORE than happy to support and guide you with a change in lifestyle.
I've been through a few endos in Suffolk, he's definitely head and shoulders above. I have had some real garbage endos that do nothing, know nothing and just want to Rx you a millions meds whether you need them or not.

Re: Endocrinologist
I also see Dr. Bitton. She is very thorough and has helped me tremendously. It was a little challenging to get the first appointment but once I was an established patient, it's been much much easier.
