Hershey park planning question

Can you do the water park and amusement park in one day or should I plan on one day at the water park and another day at the amusement park?

Also, where do you like to stay nearby the park that is not the Lodge? We went there and I thought it was very outdated. Eden resort is too far. Thanks!

I'm not sure about planning because we went about 10 years ago when my daughter was little, so we basically just did the kiddy rides and didn't go to the water park. But, for hotel, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. It was a clean basic hotel and breakfast was included. It was a quick drive to the park, as I remember.

Re: Hershey park planning question

We usually stay at the Courtyard Hershey Chocolate Avenue.
It's beautiful and new and clean.

There are a lot of hotels on Chocolate Ave and it's a 10 minute drive to the park.

As far as the waterpark, you CAN do it in one day with the dry rides. I'd get there at opening, do the dry rides, have lunch then head to the water park.
Bring a bag with towels and bathing suits (or wear bthing suit under your clothes) and get a locker in the water park area as soon as you get there to stow your bags so you aren't dragging it around.
Then when ready for the water park, go get your bags, change (if you aren't wearing you suits under your clothes) and do the rides for the afternoon.

What we usually do though is 2 park days- one for all dry rides and the next day we come back for the waterpark and go in the morning since it's less crowded in the AM. The waterpark is usually not enough for a full day for us- by the afternoon we are over it, so we change and do some more dry rides before heading out.

I can’t help with the water park/amusement park aspect for we only do the amusement park but for hotel we always stay at the Holiday Inn Express in hummelstown—it’s about a 5 min drive to the park which is super convenient. . We’ve been regulars there for years. Lol.

Yes you can do them in one day. I would do the dry rides first. We stayed at the Tru by Hilton Chocolate Ave when we went. It was a 5 min drive to the park.

You CAN do them in one day but I've heard they've been crowded this year and it depends if you'll ride the big coasters, which have longer wait times. We do 3 park days and bounce between amusement and water park.

We've stayed at the Suites at Hershey which was nice--we stayed in a 2 bedroom so it had a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms. In a few weeks, we will be staying at Hershey Camping Resort in a 2 bedroom deluxe cabin (so it will have indoor plumbing Chat Icon)

You can do a preview 2 hours before closing the night before your full day. The first day we did Chocolate world, then went into the park for 2 hours and did dry rides. Next day we wore our bathing suits, started with whatever rides we didn't get to the night before and then went the waterpark in the afternoon.

You can do it in one day. We do the preview and do some of the dry rides. Then the next morning we usually go to the waterpark first and then change and do some dry rides.

The waterpark is ok but the big slides get very crowded so we tend not to stay long, my kids could skip completely as they prefer Kalahari.

We typically do two days though as we go back to the hotel midday to relax after a nice lunch offsite (but we havent done it since the hours have been 11-8...)

We stay at the Springhill Suites usually - its right up the road from the entrance.

We often stay at the Residence Inn Harrisburg Hershey but I can't recommend them after we checked in over Easter and had a used bar of soap in the shower. Gag.

The Courtyard is good!

For future planning for next year, I organize a group rate with the moms group online and the tickets are cheap. I will share the details next Spring!

Yes the tour was enough for us. We really didn't spend a lot of time in there- we wanted to be in the parks.
It's a HUGE gift shop though with tons of candy of every kind you can imagine and souvenirs etc

We did not do the zoo

We did the zoo. It was small and eh. We only have done the tour, none of the paid add ons, it was enough for us.
