I never vacuum! My housekeepers vacuum the whole house every other week. We don't have carpet anywhere and we have mostly sisal rugs. I sweep a couple times a week. My kids take their shoes off at the door though and we really don't have much of a mess on the floor. I probably should run a vacuum through my kids rooms a couple times a week but I don't even bother.
every other week?? that's not enough for me lol... I have cleaning people that come 1-2 times a month, but i still vacuum almost daily. I have a roomba that runs every day

How often do you vacuum?
Downstairs (kitchen etc) is done either everyday or every other (we have a robot for that) and I do upstairs (all bedrooms) 1x per week. 3 cats that roam the house so we accumulate a bit of hair.

See I don't have carpets anymore either but I don't sweep my wood floors, I vacuum them with a stick vacuum. I see so much dust bunnies, hair, debris etc, so I am always grabbing the vacuum. It's nice and light and easy to use and to me it's way easier than sweeping and having to pick it up in a dustpan etc

See I don't have carpets anymore either but I don't sweep my wood floors, I vacuum them with a stick vacuum. I see so much dust bunnies, hair, debris etc, so I am always grabbing the vacuum. It's nice and light and easy to use and to me it's way easier than sweeping and having to pick it up in a dustpan etc
I hate vacuuming hardwood floors. It's kind of like nails on a chalkboard for me. I would like to get a roomba though. Maybe I will do that now actually lol. The only prob is a lot of my rooms have saddles and I am not sure the roomba would go over them.

How often do you vacuum?
DH does the vacuuming and does it every 2-3 days on the main floor, every two weeks upstairs.

At least once a day, sometimes twice esp if we’re expecting company I’ll run it quick right before they arrive. We have a dog that sheds A LOT.

Daily, I have a cordless stick vacuum. And there is always crap on the floor no matter how many times I vacuum.

We used to have wall to wall carpet, but got rid of that. Now, we only have it up the stairs to the 2nd floor and in the 2nd floor hallway. I tell DH all the time - I can't wait to rip it all out. I HATE carpet.

Twice a week, but I would do it every day if I had the time. I love a freshly vacuumed carpet/floor.

What shocks me is how much more dirt I see with the wood floors. Which makes me think how gross our carpet must have been and how much filth was hiding in it that we really never saw

We have carpet in our living room and hall and just can't find it in me to rip up as we have a dog and he slips all over the other floors so I don't want him getting hurt. Also, we like to sit on the floor as well as other people when they come over so I would think that would be very uncomfortable.

We have carpet in our living room and hall and just can't find it in me to rip up as we have a dog and he slips all over the other floors so I don't want him getting hurt. There are definitely cons to it. I don't have dogs but I can imagine them scratching up the wood with their claws. I hear my cats running sometimes and can almost hear the floors getting scratched. I trim their nails regularly but sometimes they get the zoomies and run around the house at top speed and it sounds like they are ripping the floors apart.
Also I find it's colder. I feel like cold air radiates from the floors now- especially being on a concrete slab.
My daughter loves to sit on the floor in her room so I got her a fluffy area rug that's nice and cozy but yeah sitting on the floor isn't great on the wood

My entire home is hardwood floors... i think it's actually way easier to see dirt on hardwood vs carpet. which is why im always vacuuming! I can see every crumb lol
Sweeping is just as good though- same thing in my opinion
