Re: Soy????

"A few studies suggest that high levels of soy protein may decrease fertility. According to a report in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition a small number of studies have shown that high levels of soy can increase menstrual cycle length, decrease FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) and decrease LH (leutinizing hormone). But we must note that the high levels of soy generating this effect are equivalent to drinking three 12-ounce glasses of soy milk (60 g soy protein equivalent to 45 mg of isoflavones) for a month. However, normally most people do not consume this much soy. "

Re: Soy????

If it consoles you any, I'm vegan, eat TONS of soy every day, and don't have any of the symptoms they say people get from eating it. Yes, I am infertile, but for very different reasons. Don't give it up -- it's healthy!

I agree with Sue... I'm a vegetarian and lactose intolerant, and I eat unbelievable amounts of Soy every day, and I got pregnant in my second month of trying, miscarried, and got pregnant again one week later, and have been eating ENORMOUS amounts of Soy this whole pregnancy. I find it hard to believe, especially considering that there are entire countries whose diet consist of significant amounts of Soy, and yet, there do not seem to be significant fertility issues in those countries...
