How awful is it
that I am embarassed and ashamed to see my friend on friday, because I gained weight since the last time I saw her?

Don't be embarassed!! I sometimes feel like that also. It totally sucks. But I find that what I'm the most self conscious about, most people don't even notice!!

OMG I kow exactly what you mean! I avoided friends from HS b/c of my weight gain.
But I got over it because I figured I'd want to see them for them, not to critique their bodies and I'd hope the same for me.
And you are beautiful!

I know exactly how you feel!!
My friend always competed with me, and she is getting married in April, and i haven't seen her in years, and she will DIE when she sees how heavy I am... I am so embarrassed, I don't even want to go to the wedding. Her mom is a real gossip, and I KNOW that she will tell ALL of our old high school friends what I look like
It is good motivation though... I gotta lose lots of weight!!!

Seriously.....NO LIE!....
A couple of years ago I was meeting a friend at a Yankees game that I hadn't seen in YEARS! I gained LOTS of weight.... I spent hours trying on millions of jeans & jerseys so I wouldn't look as bad as I knew I did.
Well...we get there. I was sweating it! My friend calls to say she's coming over to our seats. Honestly Rebecca...when I tell you I didn't even recognize her...I mean I didn't even recognize her!  She was always skinny as a rail! She was larger than me......
So...I guess what I'm trying to say is don't sweat it...people change...if you did...it's quite possible...so did she!
