How big was your baby?
Hey all!
I had a sonogram last week on Monday, at 29 weeks, 1 day, and my baby was aprox. 3 lbs 11 oz!! It's big because I have gestational diabetes! How big were your babies around that time, if you were able to find out?
I want to get a sono every week now to keep the size updated!

Re: How big was your baby?
I think at 28 weeks they said my son was just over 2lbs. When he was born at 41 weeks he was 10lbs 3oz.

Re: How big was your baby?
Since you had GD they will definitely monitor the baby's weight more often. If he is getting too big they may induce you early.
I didn't have an ultrasound after 28 weeks so my doctor estimated that he'd be just over 8lbs based on external measurements of my belly and how I carried.

Re: How big was your baby?
As long as your GD is under control the baby will not grow too big. I had GD that required 3 shots of inslin per day and Molly was 7lbs 15oz. You must make sure that you keep your GD totally under control. Also, remember sonos can be off by 1 pound or so.

Re: How big was your baby?
The doctors ahve said that I don't even need insulin at this time. Right now my levels are usually right on target. Usually below 95 in the morning when I fast, and below 120 2 hrs after meals. They have gone to like 124 or 127 occasionally, but they said not to worry about that. However, the baby is still measuring large.
I know that the ultrasounds can be off. I guess we'll see the next time I get one. I see the doctor in 2 weeks again so I guess he'll determine then when my next ultrasound will be.
