Whose mother/father went crazy looking for a Cabbage Patch doll for them???

I guess since we are talking about hot items and toys it reminds me of this craze...my poor mother went all of the tri state area trying to get me a doll and was on the waiting list at Toys R Us and then I finally got one...still have her too

My grandmother in FL had to get one for me, b/c my parents couldn't! I remember visiting her and seeing the box at the top of the coat closet. I asked her, "Grandma, what's that?" She said, "nothing, just an empty box." She lied! It was the CPK that I was getting for Chanukah!

my parents did!!! Except they couldnt find one, so my uncle got me one!

My dad was in the air force and my mom went to the base exchange when it opened to get one for me. It was a madhouse, a colonel tried to pull it out of her hands.

OMG, what a craze they were! My friend's dad had a "connection" so he got one for her and one for me (well for my parents to give to me). I would say that doll is probably the most memorable gift I ever got. He still sits on my bed at my parent's house, in all his beaten-up glory (he went to college and grad school with me and finally stayed at my parents' when I got married!).

my mom found two one for me and one for my sister. some man in the store offered her 300 for them each and she turned him down! so i got one!

My mom went nuts looking for one for me. And I was a very demanding 7 year old... it had to be a bald baby boy. I ended up getting a boy with lots of hair! I actually still have him. Dug it out of my parents house and my son actually keeps it in his room now. He tells me he likes my baby doll.

Mine was Soñaella Paonessa. I will NEVER forget her name!! She was a "track star" CP and came dressed in gray sweats and sneakers...she had brown hair and skin (she was Spanish...I loved that!).

My mom paid a lot for her in PR & went through a lot of trouble to get it for my 5th birthday. It was the only doll I had growing up other than my Peach Barbie since my mom only bought me educational toys. I loved her, but I lost her on the move here.

My first CPK was an imitation one, because my mother couldn't get one. My second one was named Lettie Zena.

Wanna laugh? I remember that they all had birthdays. Being that I got my first one when I was 10, she would have just turned 21. Yep! My CPK can now legally drink.

I am sooooooo old!

I remember putting my name on a list in a spiral notebook at Toys R Us for every patch I wanted.

When we got the call it was like so amazing!

my parent did for the cpk with the teeth. they were i think toys r us and got the last one when some woman tried ripping out of my mom's hand

my dad had to knock people over in Toys R Us to get mine.

Her name was Lynn Dodie. I still have her. My dog (when I was 4) chewed her, and my grandma sewed her up, and restuffed her.

my sister's was Evelyn Mary.

I loved how they smelled like baby powder when you first got them

then I had the bathtub one!
