My mom just bought these slippers for DH from Land's End. Everyone in my family has them and loves them including me, my mom, dad, bro and SIL. They are comfy and warm.

those are both nice suggestions, Thank You. I am looking for a sole that he can wear outside if needed (like to get the paper, take out garbage, chase the dogs around the yard)

I second the tempurpedics.....you can get them at Brookstone.
They offer them in Velour, Suede, and Leather. I bought DH the suede one for Hannamus 2 years ago and he LOVES them. Worth every penny.

ETA: The soles are hard on these...so he can wear them anywhere outside....DH does all the time.

My Dh is the same with slippers. He needs to be able to go outside with them! Last year I got him a pair from Old Navy, this year Target. If you don't mind spending a little more then Land's End has really nice ones that you can wear outside.
