Re: What I did last night (ASPCA related)

I am crying for that poor dog - and the ones that died. People are so incredibly cruel, I don't understand it.

Kudos to you and your dad for REALLY CARING and making the effort.

My neighbor left his dog out one night - it was 3am and he was barking -- it was below freezing. After about 20 minutes it was obvious the owners were passed out or whatever. I called the Nassau County Precinct and they came to the owner's house within about 5 minutes and knocked on the door. Next thing I knew the dog was being brought in the house - I think they were drunk and passed out and forgot about him. I am glad to know I can call Nassau County and now the SPCA - I didn't think there was an office on LI!!

Re: What I did last night (ASPCA related)

What kind of idiot thinks that a Lab makes a good guard dog? They're friendly and generous to a fault. They'd never hurt anyone.

Anyway, good for you, for looking out for those who can't help themselves. If you continue to follow the dog, consider contacting Labrador Retriever Rescue of Long Island. They take in Labs in just these situations.

And if you do, let us know please? LILRR is in constant need of donations for the dogs they take care of. Chat Icon

That is so sad... You did an amazing kindhearted thing! Was it in the industrial part of Westbury where all the bodyshops and warehouses are?

yes back there.

Wow!! That's amazing - good for you for being so persistent and getting something done. Hopefully, that dog will have a normal home soon.
I really don't understand how people can do these things to innocent animals and yet it continues.
And a special shout out to MrsMBV for finding the ASPCA number!!!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

About 13.5 years ago my mom rescued our yorkie. He was being abused and they told us that we wasn't good with children or other dogs. He is so gentle and loving. We could count is ribs when we got him and were told by the vet that is spine was crocked due to being locked in a cage. Benji is now 15 years old (we thinK) and has given us many years of love.

So once again, good for you. I know that dog really appreciates everything you have done.
