How do you cook Pierogies?
Do I boil them? Or fry them with something?
What is a good side dish to have?
TIA

I boil them for a couple of minutes, until they float to the top. Then I fry them in a pan with butter for a few minutes. I usually make perogies with keilbasa.

I do something similar. I nuke them right out of the freezer in a bowl w/ a little water on the bottom for just about 2 min. or so (until they're soft). Then drain & cook in a pan w/ butter spray until golden on both sides. SO good! I actually make these as the side dish with something like pork chops.

I do the same or sometimes I won't even fry them. I'll just boil them then add some garlic and oil to them and serve. THey are good both ways.

I pan fry them in butter. About 8 minutes per side. Comes out nice and crispy! Sometimes I'll add kielbasa and sour cream. YUM!

Re: How do you cook Pierogies?
I boil them and serve them with sour cream or butter. When I had them in Poland restaurants would boil (I think) then fry them in butter and crackling. No sour cream. Yummmm. I loved all the different flavoured pierogies there.

I loved the traditional Ruskie (potato and cheese) and the mushroom and cabbage one. Yum. They even do desserts with them! I ate strawberry (or some berry) with sweet cream. OMG so good!!!!
ETA: Now I am in the mood for pierogies. Going out for some pierogies with my parents tonite.

Boil and then pan dry to make them brown and crispy on outside. I usually serve with fried onions and broccoli on the side. May have this for dinner tongiht.

I had them last night, thanks to this thread. I went to Bozenas in Lindenhurst. Really good Polish restaurant.

i boil them an then put them in the broiler for 10 minutes and brush some butter on the top of them for browning. I like them with just salt but DH likes them with sour cream.
