dog training... average price?

I'm starting to get quotes for dog training of our new puppy and was wondering what's the average price range.

Any ideas? Chat Icon

Re: dog training... average price?

We took Rudy to Petsmart. It was like 120 for 8 weeks. They taught stuff like sit and stay. It was ok.

Rudy needed extra help. We had bark busters over today and Rudy is a different dog already. It was $$$$ but worth it. 600.00

Well we don't have the option of petsmart or Petco because of how far east we are.

I got one quote today for in home training for 7 sessions and its $795. I think that's a lot, but we're new at this so what do we know! Chat Icon

The good think about Bark Busters is that they are there for the life of the dog. So if you have the same problem or a new problem you can call them.

Re: dog training... average price?

my place won't help you since it was in CT but we got our place from an Adult Education school- maybe you can try something like that- it was 120.00 for 7 weeks- 1x a week for an hour- but she always went over and she was available by email with questions all the time-

it was good- he was socialized with other dogs, learned basic commands, and she gave us many tips on potty training him

Whatever you do, don't get the guy with the German Shepherds. I have heard rumors that he isn't very nice to the dogs.

Rumors though. So DON'T quote me on that! Chat Icon

I've heard other kinds of rumors about him as well... ones that our husbands would have a problem with! Chat Icon

Re: dog training... average price?

We had a private trainer for a while because of a problem Oscar had to overcome. It was $125 a session and very necessary. We also did the town obedience class, about $60 or $70 and pretty good, about 5 sessions.

He works out by us, in the "Hamptons". He has these German Shepherds that sit on top of his car when he's parked in town to "show off" his training skills. They are the MOST obedient dogs I have ever come in contact with, but I've heard some not-so-nice things about him and his "training".

we use best friends dog training

they have both home training and board and train. While it was expensive it has been the best investment ever. The training is lifetime.

I have to agree with this & say that I highly recommend Bark Busters. They (and your dog!) are worth the money.
