Have you ever been to Maine?

Last summer, we went to Bar Harbor for a week. We loved it and we're going back this summer. We spent a lot of time hiking various parts of Acadia National Park. We also went sea kayaking, walked around Bar Harbor, and took a boat trip to another area.
It's a really long drive, so I would spend more than a weekend there, but it's a great trip, especially if you like the outdoors.

I went to Maine for a week last summer and it was the best time! We stayed in York Beache and my MIL's house, but there is tons to do up there... We love going to the York Harbor Inn for a bed and breakfast, so cute!! It's a fun time, but it's hard for a weekend trip, since it takes so long to get up there

My family lives in Maine & we have a summer place there. It is a gorgeous place to visit. If you plan to go only for a weekend, I suggest flying via Jet Blue out of JFK to Portland. The flights are cheap & then you can rent a car. If you drive, depending on where you are going, you are looking at least 7 hours.
The tourist areas are gorgeous. I would reccommend Boothbay Harbor, Camden or Bar Harbor. There is so much to do & see there. Just watch for peak season up there bc it can become VERY crowded.

I recently looked into Maine - friend recommended Kennebunkport (probably didn't spell that one right! haha).....let us know what you decide! :)

Yeah it would be a long weekend (Friday-Monday) and we live 10 minutes from the Port Jeff Ferry so from CT it seems about 4 hours. We wanted to try something different and a friend of mine went to Ogunquit and really liked it. We are looking into Ogunquit and Kennebunkport. There are some really nice B&B's/Inns that I am researching. We really just want a few days to hang by the ocean and relax.

Have a wonderful time. Try to stay near the water & hope for some wind. This is black fly season....

So many gorgeous places to stop along the coast. Don't forget to shop in Freeport, and of course hit the LL Bean store...open 24hours/day!!
And eat lobster at every meal!!
I love Maine!!

Have a great time. DH went to Ogonquit every year when he was little. I went last yr with him and we did a stop at Kennebunkport. I love Maine.
