teacher supplies
Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone could clue me in on where to get supplies, especially for high school. I'm going to be teaching social studies and my room has NOTHING. Thanks!

Re: teacher supplies
bulletin board paper (large and small role) borders posters (geography, flags, past presidents, etc) also, grammar posters. just because it isn't english class doesn't mean they should not have to think about writing if they are going to be writin gin the class plan book grade book post its (i'm the queen of these ) stickers a globe if you don't have one a flag for the same reason pens pencils white out index cards scissors stapler tape crayons and other project stuff if you're doing them

Re: teacher supplies
before you buy anything, ask your secretary what they supply you. i never have to buy supplies (tape, postits, staples, etc) or my plan/gradebook.
i wouldn't spend my own money on those kind of things before asking.

Re: teacher supplies
I agree with the Discount school supplies website. Definitely get things there.
Check Staples or Office Max for back to school sales on index cards, pens, and those kinds of things. I always get great deals there.

Island school supplies has a lot of stuff. They are located in Smithtown and Medford. Also Costco has tons of stuff.

I was told by my chairperson that they do not supply anything except a gradebook and a planbook. The person I'm inheriting the room from left the desk drawers clogged with trash but no posters, bulletin boards or anything. He even took the clock!!! I'm going to try to beg some stuff from other teachers, and try to get some stuff on eBay before I go to the teacher stores. Thank you, everyone, for your advice!
