Re: Cruise lines to avoid?

Well I have been on Carnival & Princess and love them both.

My parent's have been on Celebrity and Royal Caribbean and loved them too.

I think it really depends more on where you want to go and the ship.

Re: Cruise lines to avoid?

We've been on

Carnival
Celebrity
Princess
Royal Caribbean

The only one we didn't love was Royal Caribbean, but for the right price, we would give them another chance.

I don't think there are any you necessarily need to steer clear of, but I would research them and make sure they offer what you are looking for in a vacation.

We did Norwegian and loved it.

My ILs have been on Norwegian, Carnival and Princess. Their fave was Norwegian for the freestyle dining.

Re: Cruise lines to avoid?

We've been on Carnival and NCL - I much preferred NCL. We like the freestyle dining, and it attracted more of an adult (less family) crowd which we were looking for.

In August we are cruising Princess and I am very excited about trying them. My parents have cruised Celebrity twice and rave about that line as well.

Disfruta!

Re: Cruise lines to avoid?

I've been on Princess, Royal Caribbean twice, Celebrity, and Carnival and enjoyed them all for different reasons... we are doing another Royal Caribbean in January-a short cruise for a reunion

Re: Cruise lines to avoid?

We have been on RCCL: both demostic and europe, and carnival ( the not so fun ship)

Carnival was okay, the ship was small and you felt every movement. Food was okay, same with entertainment!!!

I would def recc RCCL but most of all look for a ship with a large amount of passengers, less rocking

Re: Cruise lines to avoid?

I love Royal Caribbean! I have been on the Adventure of the Seas and the Liberty of the Seas. Both AWESOME ships! The food was really good and so was the entertainment. I went on a 1nt cruise on the Norwegian Spirit and wasn't really crazy about it. The food was ok and the entertainment wasn't that good. The rooms were on the small side and mine smelled musty. But I just saw the Norwegian Dawn and liked that one (I am a travel agent and was on the Dawn for a tour and lunch)

Re: Cruise lines to avoid?

Just got back today from a cruise on RCCL. We had a great time!!! We went on Adventure of the seas. I have been on 13 cruises and this was my favorite by far. The service was fantastic and the boat had so much to do.

I also highly recommend Celebrity and Princess cruise line. I have been on a few and loved them all.

I have also been on Carnival and Norwegian. While they are nice cruise lines, they don't compare to the others IMO...

Re: Cruise lines to avoid?

I'/ve been on Carnival and Norwegian. We loved Carnival but Norwegian was a HUGE disappointment. It's freestyle all right, but only if you have a reservation and they have room for you in their dining room. Rooms were also small and dingy, buffet was gross and unruly, and service just overall bad. Thank god we were with good company or I would have jumped ship. Never again! Chat Icon

Yep, we went on the Norwegian spirit for our honeymoon. It was terrible, we even wrote them with a list of complains asking for our money back to no avail......Since then we've been scared to book another one!
