basal therms

I bought a basal a few mths ago but read that it must go out 2 decimal points in order for it to really work right. Mine doesn't and the friggin thing cost $17! Not sure if that's a good price or a bad price but it seemed pretty expensive to me for a thermometer! Should I try using it this month or buy another one that's "the real deal?"

Re: basal therms

You only need it to go to the tenth. For instance, 98.6 ...you don't need 98.63 ...

Thanks Michelle.. Just out of curiosity, what difference is it of an ordinary therm? I took my temp with both and they were slightly off. I'm guessing the basal is a little more sensitive?

Re: basal therms

Yes they say the basal, is a bit more sensitive...if there are any changes. It's mostly the 'tenth' of the degree that matters so much, so it has to be sensitive. Did you get the BD thermometer, that's purple. I like that one, it reads your temp, quickly.

I did temp last month right up until cd20 and then just fell off. Shame on me! I didn't record cm consistency though.
