Re: i have a question about the dopplers
What brands are you looking into getting? DH and I were looking into this as well and we were a bit unsure as well.

Re: i have a question about the dopplers
I think it would be okay, I am going to ask my dr at my next appt on 10/19 just to be sure. It uses sound waves that puts the pieces back together to form the heartbeat, i think...
I couldn't be without mine now, gives me such reassurance during a scary 1st trimester :)

Re: i have a question about the dopplers
I rented 1 form babybeats, it was the best investment I made. it got me thru the 1st tri with ease, I would highly recommend one. plus it gave my hubby something to share in as well since he doesnt get to carry it (wishful thinking LOL)

Re: i have a question about the dopplers
i think the doppler with the heart rate counter from fetalsure.com. i know a couple of people here used it and seems like the best price

I just did a general serch on Google. The average price I saw for rent was $200 for 8 months. It's all done online. There are so many though... I don't know which one!

Re: i have a question about the dopplers
I pay $20 per month from Heartones.com. The actual unit is a $550 unit if you had to buy it. I opted for no digital readout because it was cheaper. The best rental companies I've heard of are babybeats.com,heartones.com and fetalsure.com. Gives such piece of mind, money well spent!!

Re: i have a question about the dopplers
I rent mine from storkradio.com, it's about 21 bucks a month. I love it! I was able to hear the hearbeat at about 9 weeks.

OMG it was a godsend for me!!!!! I was so worried until I got one...every night DH and I would lay in bed and listen to the babies heart beat (the sweetest sounds you'll ever hear) It was a special bonding time for us...
I asked my dr first and he said that it was fine... after all...they do this at every vist!!
If you want more info let me know!

I used heartones as well and it was great. Any time I felt uneasy, all I had to do was listen to his heartbeat and I felt a million times better. They're great for a worrywart mommy-to-be like I was. Totally worth the money. Plus, I had rented it out until August and Christopher was born in July, so I sent it back and was refunded for the month of August.
