Depends on what you mean by "helping plan". I've dropped hints here and there about certain things I would and would not like and I know DH takes them into account and I'm pretty sure he passes it on. So far it though it seems one thing I have no say in is the date!

I told my mother what I didn't want. I told her I didn't want it to be a traditional shower, but more of a get together with family and friends.

I helped...My mom is hosting but I did a lot of the legwork getting prices and menus from different restaurants, favor ideas, guest list. She made the final decisions.
My sister and Aunts are taking over cause my mom had a bypass on May 6th (emergency) and she's not up to any more shower stuff. I'm still considering cancelling it but people have told me it would be better for me to let it go on then cancel it cause my mom may feel that its her fault I didn't have a shower.

yes I picked the place that I wanted and got the price but not the date and time, and everything else.

I'm having 2 showers..one in Maine with my family and 1 on Long Island with Dh's family. I just bought my own Favors online. I've yet to tell them though...

I let her know things I specifically wanted or didnt want like:
We are moving into a new apt. in July so i Wanted it after that....and I wanted the nursery to be done by the end of sept... hence making the shower somewhere inbetween
I also requested that my mom didnt spend alot of money...just sandwichs chips and salad (thats all I eat anyway)
other than that, shes doing it all herself!

No, but I will start to give hints about ideas and stuff I'd like to see at the shower. My Mom and sisters will most definitely be planning it...along with some help from DH.

I helped my mom plan the shower.. gave her a list of guests, picked the place, helped with the decorations... it wasnt a surprise.
