Cocktail Party and Screening-Updated
DH and I are going to a cocktail party and screening for a new show this season. Its this Sat. at 8pm - what do I wear?
- black wrap dress (sleevless)
- black groucho pants and nice top
- other?
Update - What does DH wear? Does he have to wear a blazer/sports jacket or is a nice button down and pants good enough? I'm really nervous about all this.

bumping b/c I just read more about the event - its called a "red carpet"screening, but at the same time is open to the public as part of the NY Television Festiaval - is the simple black wrap dress fancy enough?

PS--I think you will be fine with the black dress. I didn't see any gowns in those pics. I saw lots of little black dresses and dresses with prints. Some of the actors wore a suit and tie, some just a casual jacket with a striped shirt, some just a button down (and pants too!  )

Thanks everyone for your input, I was freaking out for no reason. As it turns out I was slightly over dressed, but there were a few like me too. It was a fun night, now that my fashion crisis is over! We saw Pushing Daisies, and it was awesome - highly recommend it!
