Re: Constitution lessons??
I teach 6th and we look at the first 10 rights, discuss, and have them illustrate and write 1 sentence explaining its importance to them

Re: Constitution lessons??
Constitution Day is next week. In the curriculum, the Constitution is really not until the end of our year. I read We the Kids. We use We the People as a resource for many of the basics. We go over the Bill of Rights. The kids work in groups to create a class preamble.

Students create a preamble and a class bill of rights.
Act out the Bill of Rights.... depending on level of group, you can give them scenarios... i did this in groups of 3-4 (one group per right) and it worked out well.
in my district, COnstitution is more 5th grade curriculum.
