Re: bf moms- what foods do u avoid?
DS doesn't seem to have a problem with anything I eat, so I pretty much eat what I want. I do limit my fish intake and avoid artificial sweetners, though.

Obviously you should aviod anything that would make you gassy- like broccoli, cauliflower, and beans and anything else you know that causes you gas. I was very lucky that DS didn't have gas issues and was able to eat anything I wanted while I BF. The only thing I stayed away from after a slightly gassy experience was pasta fragiolo.

nothing really... I limit the amount of garlic and onions... I dont usually drink any sodas and try to stay away from caffeine but as I said I hardly ever pay attention to what I eat...

DS seems extra cranky when I drink coffee so I switched to decaf.

it might take up to 3 days for the culprit to leave your system so just wait a little and see.
Also, try giving your baby Gripe water. It really helps with gassiness.

he's been gassy every night for about a month! it wakes him up at least 4 times a night.
i just threw out 2 unopened things of gripe water b/c of the scare a few weeks ago with it. the mylecon drops do nothing either and ds won't drink a bottle so i can't give camamille (spell?)tea.

Re: bf moms- what foods do u avoid?
have you tried baby massage at night before you put him to sleep.
moving their legs like a bicylce helped alot with gas issues I never really changed the way I ate.

i do that with my dd and it seems to work. make sure your drinking plenty of water that helps also. my dd has a ton of gas and she cries also, during the day when you are watching the baby try laying the baby on its left side, that may help the gas or put the baby in a football hold rubbing its bellly my dd's gas subsides when i do that.
