Horribly vain question?
I think we have all done this from time to time but I have a friend who does it constantly. If we are walking through the mall or past anyone that is heavier than her, she will say "does my a$$ look that big?" or "am I that wide?". Do you do this? Do you compare your body to others, especially after having a baby?

Re: Horribly vain question?
I never did until after I had a baby. I don't know what it was that made me do this...but going from a size 2 to a size 12 was devastating for me...I guess I just wanted to see what other people saw me to be. I'm back to a size 6 and I still catch myself doing it sometimes...

Me too...I started after getting pregnant. I would ask DH if we saw a pregnant woman, "is my belly that big" b/c people used to ask me if I was having twins. I also just wanted to see how other people saw me. Now that I had the baby I compare myself to other new mom's that I see and if that's how I look.

Re: Horribly vain question?
My friend says things like that all of the time. Drives me crazy. The last straw was when she said "We are hotter than 85% of the women in this bar." Um, what?!? Who does that?!
I think she's insecure about a lot of things. Since she's very thin & toned, she prefers to compare her body to others because it's a lock that she'll "win" - at least in her mind.
I'm not a very competitive person & don't feel my weight or how I look is a competition - unless of course there was an ex-girlfriend involved or something. I would definitely compare then.

Honestly, no I don't. If anything I look at people who are thin and toned and wish I looked like that!

I don't do that, but I haven't had any kids yet.

Yikes, I find myself doing this a lot lately! First it was in my head, and now every once in a while I say something out loud to DH - it's terrible! Horrible habit to pick up. I've got to stop.

I do but I stare at people who are skinny and say "damn I used to be that thin!"

me too. I also look at people in better shape than me and wonder what they do to stay in that kind of shape.
